Decided to go here on a whim today after work- worst mistake of my life.
Everything started out normal enough. I went in and ordered the tacos. Gave the cashier a $20. She handed me back $2 and change. She gave me the bills folded, and I just put them straight in my wallet without thinking. That's my fault, I should have counted the change right then and corrected the error, but although the girl seemed a little slow, she didn't seem untrustworthy and I didn't want to seem rude.
Once the girl told me my food was ready I picked up my to-go "box" (apparently they either don't bag to-go orders or like I said, she's a bit slow) and went to my car. I went to go put the $10 bill I should have received into my console for tolls and realized it wasn't there. "That's ok" I thought, simple mistake (although, not knowing how to count to 20 seems like a pretty big mistake for someone's who works as a cashier), so I went back in and calmly explained to the guy that I was shorted $10. He asked me who "served" me and I said the female. He goes to the back and a minute later out come the three of them, one guy who cooks and is apparently the manager, the guy I just talked to, and the girl cashier. What follows is nothing short of ridiculous-
The manager looks at me and goes "what do you need?". Right off the bat I'm taken aback; I just saw his employee that I talked to a minute earlier go back and tell him what I "needed" before he came out barking at me. I recover, and calmly state what I JUST told his employee- that I was shorted $10. After denying that could ever happen (are you serious? I make at least 3 times this guy's highest possible "salary" from his hourly job being fry boy/manager, I'm not going to lie about any amount of money, let alone 10 bucks) and some back and forth, he finally exclaims "Well I'm going to have to count to register!" as if it was my fault that his employee either can't count and/or tried to steal from a customer. I told him that there should just be a $20 on top of the 10's stack (if it was indeed a mistake on her part) but he ignores me and starts counting EVERY. SINGLE. CENT. IN. THE. REGISTER.
That's right- I told him I was shorted $10, and in order for him to determine that I wasn't lying, he had to count out every single penny in the register. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't need to count every last penny to determine a $10 surplus. Furthermore there was exactly one customer who came in after me, and he paid with a card.
Anyway, after about 10 minutes, he literally shoves a $10 in my face without a word. After I take it he says "..sorry about that". Remember how I said the other employees came out with him along with the cashier? She stood behind him the whole time, giving me looks like I was lying. When the "manager" gave me the money she didn't say a word. No apology, nothing.
The icing on the cake? When I got home I discovered the avocado slices they used were rotting. They were honest to goodness rotting like they were pulled from the trash, complete with a layer of slime on them. I ended up chucking the whole box in the trash.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT...
Read moreI used to love this place and I always order the same thing to go...Spicy Thai chicken tacos (they normally make it as a wrap but can be ordered as tacos minus the bag of chips). Sadly this is the 3rd attempt I’ve made to give this place a chance. I miss the old crew... I don’t know if it’s management issue of not training their current crew to be familiar with their menu or how to make it. First bad experience, they made my spicy Thai tacos with Caribbean Jerk chicken. Second time, I tell them no avocado (I’m allergic) like I always do and asked to put more sauce, I get home and yep...avocados on each taco and hardly any sauce. I called they said bring back the food and they’ll replace it. I asked them if they could have it ready by the time I get there (I’ve had a long 12 hour stressful shift at the hospital) instead I had to wait for them to start making it. All in all that was more than an hour from the time I placed the order, get home, call back, go back to the place and wait for my food then go home. I was plain exhausted and not even in the mood to eat...by that point, I just wanna go to bed. Tonight’s third and last attempt, same order...the tacos have avocados, lettuce and black bean and corn salsa!! I scanned the menu online when I got home to see what intarnation did they make me?! They made me...nope not Caribbean jerk this time but the Cajun chicken tacos with spicy Thai sauce instead. Arghhh! I’m so done.i can’t keep paying 10.00 for a food I can’t eat let alone enjoy...
Read moreI have chosen to give this place two stars instead of one star because I feel like I am partially at fault for my experience and aftermath of dining here. You see, I should have known better, I should have went with my gut feeling. That being that when I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and was given the response "we're all out of the buffalo chicken.... Well wait let me go check in the back". I should have known this was not a buffalo chicken wrap being prepared with the freshest top choice buffalo chicken.
So the resulting food poisoning that ultimately led me to make a visit to the E.R. as I became so dehydrated I was unable to walk to the bathroom on my own. Another mistake on my behalf, choosing to travel from bathroom to bed between ungodly bathroom visits instead of just setting up shop in the porcelain cadillac knowing I'd be coming back very soon anyway.
So it is for these reasons that I have decided to gift twisted with a 2nd star instead of the lonely single star. Had I made better choices and ordered something other then the "last bit, stored in the back, buffalo chicken wrap" then my experience would have most likely been a pleasant and enjoyable visit.
Do not order the buffalo chicken wrap Do not trust the "we're all out of .... Let me go check...
