When I looked at the menu on line, I thought that the menu hadn't been updated in a year, the prices seemed too good to be true especially when you realize the burgers are 12 oz., the grilled chicken in the sandwiches are also 12 oz. When we got there you enter the bar area with a number of high tables and 3 booths that can seat 6 or more. But we found out later that there is a small fining room in back with low tables. My son ordered the Frankie burger piled high with sauteed mushrooms, gravy and swiss cheese served on a specially made bun, the meat cooked to order, he loved it, but he couldn't finish it. My wife ordered the 4 piece Broasted Chicken with Broated potatoes and Cole slaw. She loved it but a half chicken has always been too much for her so she took the rest home. I ordered the hand-breaded Lake Perch served with fries, Cole slaw, tartar sauce and rye bread. The Perch was just a little over done, but good tasting. All and all the food was very good , and the prices were even better, we will definitely be back. The only problem had was the service. The bartender/server must have had a problem with the computer to order the food, because we felt a little neglected waiting to order and then for getting our leftovers wrapped, but nothing that would deter us from...
Read moreTraveling back to Chicago from Door County, my wife and I stopped at Frankie’s for dinner. It was a really fantastic experience! We like exploring different places on our trips. It’s really hit or miss (more miss), especially because we don’t have much to go on other than the website and photos. I chose Frankie’s because the website was solid and the photos of the food on google looked really great.
The food was really fantastic; you could tell it was made with intention and pride. We had the onion rings (one of the pictures that made me want to stop lol), my wife had the broasted chicken, and I had the Frankie burger (sautéed mushrooms, gravy, melted Swiss). All were dynamite.
I would say, however, that the best thing about our time there was the service and hospitality the bartender Adam showed not only us, but everyone in the place. He welcomed in each guest, and thanked everyone on their way out. Dude made drinks, waited tables, ran food, bussed tables and took to go orders. A true one man FOH show, and he did it all with such a welcoming and kind disposition. If the food had been a 0/10 (which it wasn’t) we still would have a great experience because of his hospitality. Great food, fantastic prices, huge portions, and terrific...
Read moreWas in Sheboygan just for an overnight stay and decided on here. Went for dinner to Frankie's a few months back - was delightfully not disappointed, despite the location seemed a little sketchy at first glance. It was small inside, but not busy. We were greeted right away by our awesome waiter. We got our drinks quick and our food, which also at first didn't seem like an impressive menu - until you see what you are getting. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and chicken noodle soup - which is fully homemade. He ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger. Now, do not underestimate when I say, "GO HUNGRY" Their burgers and sandwiches are MASSIVE! They were triple the size of my hand and even bigger than his. Buns are toasted and just huge - and what's in them aren't any different, they are PACKED full of goodness. Let's just say, we both weren't able to completely finish our sandwich and burger, and all I had was a taste of the soup and took that to go after we saw the main course. Very good...
