Sheboygan has numerous quality pizzerias with excellent staff. We've had some great experiences here in the past, but our most recent may likely be our last. It used to be one of our favorite spots, but the last two times we found the experience significantly less pleasant.
The food is not an issue. It's excellent on all fronts and I couldn't find a fault if I tried. The service, however, has been incredibly disappointing. Most recently, our server visited our table once after food was served. Well north of 30 minutes without a single "how is everything?". With empty drinks lining the table, I even asked the busser for a glass of wine for my wife, knowing they couldn't get it themselves (underage) - hoping they'd tell the server, but nothing.
The server walked by us numerous times even as I looked directly at them. We saw them being talkative with other non-seated guests near the back, chatting at the bar, but they clearly had zero care for us. The level of attentiveness was pitiful, if I may be so blunt.
The busser, to their credit, was attentive and lovely. They filled waters promptly, responded when we made eye contact, cleared plates, and boxed up our leftovers. They could have asked if we wanted more drinks, but I don't fault them - it wasn't their responsibility to do so.
The server finally returned as we sat there, our table already cleared, food in boxes for several minutes, with empty drinks...and said nothing other than "coffee, dessert, scotch?".
No thanks. The check, please, and likely the final one.
I will always give the benefit of the doubt to servers, having been one so many years ago. However, they were unfriendly, inattentive, unapologetic, and...I guess arrogant would be the word to best describe them. At least in their treatment of our party.
Certainly not what one would expect in an establishment that prides itself on being "A place to meet". We will meet elsewhere henceforth and stick to takeout if we...
Read moreVisiting the area we went here tonight for dinner I will start by saying multiple People in our party have been in the service industry and waited on people before. We understand during these times that places are short staffed overworked and underpaid. However, I have never been treated so rudely by an establishment by multiple employees. Our dinner reservation was at 5:30 PM we did not get our food until 745. There were multiple tables around us that got their food well before us. After the first hour of waiting for our food we began asking the waiter when we could find him how long it would be before we were fed. He tried to be as accommodating and asked us what He could do to make our time better, my father asked for another glass of wine a few times but never received it. One of the oil bottles was accidentally knocked off the table and we asked one of the bus boys if we could get someone to clean it up or at least provide some thing and that was not done there were shards of glass over the floor and oil close to our our children were all sitting. A different server came over at a time asked If we grew up in a barn and that normally customers clean up after themselves. She told us also that we were awful as she walked away from the table. As my husband and I walked out with two of our children she then asked us where are you from then she saw her license plate from Illinois and said oh it explains a lot. If you are visiting the area from Illinois I strongly suggest you stay away from this establishment their staff is arrogant rude and do not know how to Execute customer service especially When issues arise for their customers. There is no reason why pizza and pasta should take two hours to make. Food is mediocre at best their minestrone soup was mushy and we had to ask several times for...
Read moreWaiting time 45 so we waited. They forgot about us so after an hr. I asked because I watched several people get tables. The guy was so rude at the counter and I was my same nice overly polite afraid to ask self. Then when I asked how much longer he said 20 minutes really snappy so we went to give our buzzer back but a different man said I think he made a mistake, hold tight so he was good but looked stressed. Our waitress was friendly but definitely packed multi tasking skills or leadership from whoever was supposed to be in charge. While we were waiting over an hr. I asked somebody what the pasta special was and they said a dumpling dish. When a waitress took another table we heard her tell them all about the food along with the pasta dish which was a baked rotinni. We weren't told any of this. Everybody got bread around us to use with the oil but maybe that's something you need to ask for. After that we were on our own our drinks sat empty and we were only drinking soda and water. We cleaned our table and then finally asked for our check, 20 more minute's we decided the only people that had it together were the cook's. Pizza was great but not worth spending over two hour's there. After that a couple and their little son were waiting then they finally walked in. On the way in the little guy was happy. I don't know what happened there but they came back out with the kid crying it was terrible so I guess not family friendly. Then the rude guy came out looked like he was being rude to them. His arms were flying everywhere and then he took them inside. I did a different review when we finally were given a table but It all went down hill after that so my review changed. Bad...
