Freaktoyz is a amazing store for vintage things ranging from action figures to video games . I have never had a terrible or bad experience there and the staff is always polite and will help you if you need it . The only reason i did not give it a full 5 star rating is because i feel there are certain store policies that could be altered . The first is the return policy , i bought a snes game there and was super excited to play it but when i got home it did not work (super bummed) . So i took it back to the store and the gal at the counter said ''sorry all sales are final,'' i said ''That's all fine i understand but could you at least fix it since i paid a decent amount of money on it ?'' She replied ''Of course we can fix it but at an additional cost ''. Additional cost ? For a game that was broken when i bought it ? Non sense , had that happened at ANY other game store in town they would have either refunded me or just fixed it .Another thing Freaktoyz could do to greatly draw in more customers and revenue is sell oddities for video games meaning Boxes for the games , manuals , loose controllers for systems (not knock off brands) . I can not tell you how many people i have seen get shot down by the workers there when they ask to buy such items . As a local business you would figure everything is for sale and you would make adjustments to draw in as much revenue as possible . If they started to do this they would make so much more money and draw in even more game collectors . Some game boxes alone go for as high as 80 dollars JUST FOR THE BOX . I get the fact that bundled together you can make more but if a game collector just needs the box you would still make a good amount of money off the product . I went in not a month ago and asked to buy a loose SNES controller and they directed me to the knock offs and when i asked for a real Nintendo brand one they said i have to purchase an entire system. This caused me to go to the other game store in town and without hesitation the employee from the other store sold me a Nintendo brand controller right away . All in all Freaktoyz is a great store , i did not write the above statements to shame this business in any way . I did it because i am a repeat customer i like going there and i want my voice to be heard not ignored plus i feel like they could make much more money if they just tried adjusting some polices . Again i have much respect for the employees and store and i wish them...
Read moreBeen coming here for years, on and on since probably about 2013 or so. Haven't been here as much the last few years but have consistently been coming here in the last few months and i just have to say, i'm very disappointed. Some of the counter staff are very rude(Blonde girl in particular was very snarky with me for no real good reason, i have no idea what her problem is), and the owner comes off as a big know it all. Tried talking to him about something i had an issue was and just kept getting talked over again and again so i'd assume he wanted me to just leave and take whatever was wrong on the chin because why should it be their problem when it's their products? lol
I've had 3 issues in the last 3 or so months buying games, two disc based games that wouldn't work, one cartridge based game that wouldn't work. No way to test the product beforehand, no way to get an actual return in even with the receipt(which happened twice on the same exact day not even an hour after purchase). Honestly this store has a good presentation but the customer service just isn't good, for being here so long and now being the only game in town(no pun intended) now that Gaming Generations is gone(how i miss them, they were more reasonable and better priced), i'm now at the mercy of having a not so great time buying games and the like locally. It's ridiculous, i've had good experiences here before and i want to still have them but this just isn't it. Please, to the people who own this store do better. I might...
Read moreSo I’ll start this off with the fact that this is a very cool store they are running and they do have a very nice selection of collectibles and games here, BUT after my experience today, I’d definitely question the validity of what they say. I went in looking for some PS2 stuff (games, controllers, etc.) and to just check it out since I’d never been there before. After I’d grabbed a couple things and went up to the counter I noticed they had a little case with various controllers in it and I spotted 3 black PS3 controllers (I also look for PS3 stuff) and I asked to see one. I was told they were OEM Sony “refurbished” controllers and they appeared to be so I payed the OEM price for one controller $35 used.) But after a little bit of time back at home looking closer into it, these are in fact cheap Chinese knockoffs that are being sold as OEM products. The list for this exact same product on Amazon and eBay is around $15 so you can see how disingenuous this is. So my warning to anyone looking to visit this store for the first time is to do proper research into what you are buying so you know how to spot fakes. I can guarantee that if they are peddling fake PS3 controllers, they aren’t only fake items on...
