Disappointing Culinary Experience at "Deteoit grille house"
My recent visit to the "DGH" was regrettably underwhelming. Despite a pleasant atmosphere and amiable service from the staff, the quality of the food failed to meet expectations.
My wife ordered the Alfredo, which was dishearteningly oily, and the chicken seemed notably processed, resembling a microwave meal. Furthermore, my order of the "Richard Burger," requested medium-well, arrived nearly rare. Although the taste was pleasing, the accompanying fries were disappointingly soggy, lacking the desired crispness.
Upon voicing our concerns, the staff kindly replaced the fries. However, the second batch was even more underwhelming, showcasing the inconsistency in the kitchen's food preparation.
While the establishment holds a decent ambiance and boasts a genuinely courteous waiter staff, the lackluster quality of the food, including an oily Alfredo, processed chicken, undercooked burger, and unsatisfactory fries, unfortunately solidifies our decision not to revisit.
*Wanted to give an update, the manager did come to our table before we had the chance to leave. He offered to refund our whole bill (which we refused as we did eat some of the food) and gave us credit for the next time we come back. Absolutely appreciate them taking care of us right away! * Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. To be...
Read moreFirst I must say that I was not fond of the previous Steinys Restaurant. Since there are still ties to the previous I was apprehensive to try the Detroit Grill. Very similar menu where they try to add a fancier or gourmet flare to the menu. Would rather just have consistently good food. My wife had the steak bites. She didn't care for the demi glaze and after trying it I also did not care for it. We also reviewed the Detroit fish house which is run by the previous Steinys owners and did not like the sauce at that location either. Taste like the same recipe. I will say that the meat was tender but my wife did not finish her meal. My daughter had a kids burger which she did like but wish they had more of a vegetable choice to go with it. I had the sliced hanger steak with peppercorn sauce. My dish was cold on the first bite. Also when they sliced the meat they didn't slice it well so every time I grabbed a piece with my fork there was one or two pieces still connected. Meat tenderness and taste were fairly good. Our meal was actually a two star meal but I gave an extra star for the interior updates. Much nicer ambiance than the previous Steinys. We live close and I was hopping to find a restaurant near that we really liked. Probably will try again since there are limited options close but still looking for that "favorite"...
Read moreWe hosted my sister’s 60-person wedding shower at Detroit Grill House and were very disappointed with the service and management.
I arrived at 10 AM with other hosts, having dropped off linens the night before so tables could be ready. When we arrived, only half were set and there were no glasses or beverages on the tables, not even water. Staff brought drinks only to guests who ordered at the bar or through the waitress.
Food service began at 11:30 with no pacing. Large tables received just one small salad bowl, and entrées came before salads were finished. Guests still had no water or bread. I offered to help but was told it would be served after meals. Mid-meal, I asked to speak with the manager and explained my concerns. He blamed being “backed up,” yet only two servers were assigned to a 60-person family-style meal, and leadership never stepped in to help.
While the space was large and the attached bathroom convenient, service was disorganized, unfriendly, and inattentive. The bartender was the only bright spot. The event ended nicely for guests, but it was frustrating for hosts who invested significant money in what should have been a...
