The Corner House — Restaurant in Shelby Charter Township

The food was okay. Nothing special. I had the Greek pita with chicken. My husband had the Gyro pita. We also split an order of french fries. The fries were good. Cooked crispy as requested, & the sandwiches tasted fine. Nothing wrong with them at all, just not notable. I will say that the pink Greek dressing was tasty. We both agreed that the choice to use diced onions, instead of sliced, on the sandwiches is a mistake. It probably makes prep easier because they can use the same onions on salads, etc., but they are a mess on the pita. They just end up falling out all over the plate. The decor is pleasant. The patio is nice, too bad it doesn't have a better view. However, the techno/ electronica music that was playing during the meal was annoying. At first it just seemed like they were trying too hard to create some sort of atmosphere that wasn't there on a sunny Friday evening, but after a short time the steady, thumping bass became downright annoying. It did not encourage us to linger by ordering another round or drinks or dessert. We went to dinner, not a club. The service was pleasant, efficient. However, we had to ask if they had a liquor license (there was no bar menu on our table- we noticed a specials sign at the entrance),, she didn't ask if we wanted another drink or dessert, she just brought the check (no, there was not a wait for a table, nor were they closing). The Corner House is honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. From the moment you walk in, you feel the cozy and welcoming vibe that makes it stand out. The food is delicious, the menu has so many great options, and everything is cooked to perfection. Whether you’re there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they never disappoint. The atmosphere is relaxed but still feels special, like the perfect place to bring friends or family.

What really made the experience even better was the amazing staff. Everyone was friendly, but there was one girl who stood out—although I forgot her name, I’ll never forget how kind and thoughtful she was. She checked on us often, made sure we had everything we needed, and smiled the whole time like she really cared. You could tell she loved working there and wanted to make people feel welcome.

It’s rare to find service like that, and it made me like the restaurant even more. The Corner House already has great food and a great vibe, but people like her make it unforgettable. I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Corner House, and I can confidently say it was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm, attentive service that set the tone for the evening.

The atmosphere is both cozy and refined—perfect for a date night or an upscale dinner with friends. The attention to detail in the decor adds to the charm without being over the top.

Now, the food… wow. Every dish was a masterpiece. I started with the seasonal appetizer, which was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. For my main course, I chose the chef’s special and it was perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. The ingredients were clearly top-quality and the flavors were so well balanced. Dessert was the cherry on top—rich, decadent, and worth every calorie.
