Hamlin Pub — Restaurant in Shelby Charter Township

I have been going to Hamlin Pub for years. They place a coupon in the local coupon books. One of the coupons is for a extra large pizza one topping for $10.99. I have purchased this pizza as a carry out many times over the years. I returned home after an extended trip out of town. I ordered a pizza gave my credit card to the bartender and was given a slip to sign in the amount of $12.07, when asked why it was not the correct amount of $11.65 ($10.99 plus 6% tax) the male manager came out and told her to refund me the 42 cents. Yesterday I ordered the same pizza, and before I gave the bartender my credit card I asked for the price. When the price came to $12.07 again I asked why. A very rude and defensive female manager came out after my pizza sat next to me for several minutes, and told me there was a 40 cent carry out charge which she had done the calculation on the slip to show it should have been a total of $12.04, and that they have always had a carry out charge. I then asked if there were taxes on the 40 cents and she said no, so I proceeded to ask her where the the extra 3 cents came from. She asked if I would like her to refund my three cents. No where is there a carry out charge on the bill. I will not return to Hamlin Pub to be treated so badly. I just expect a business to properly disclose any hidden fees up front! I wonder how many times I was cheated when dining in at Hamlin Pub when the bill is not as simple as a one...

If you’re looking for an incredible spot to host a fantasy football draft party, look no further than Hamlin Pub at 22 & Hayes. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric—perfect for any sports fan. Theresa was our waitress was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to stomachs full and the draft moving along, we didn’t have to ask for anything she was on top of it! And huge thanks to Michelle who made it all possible by setting us up in the room!

The bar offered a great selection of drinks, from craft beers to signature cocktails, all at reasonable prices. The food menu was equally impressive, featuring delicious appetizers that were perfect for sharing. The boneless wings were a standout, and the pizza was piled packed with flavor.

What truly set Hamlin Pub apart was the setup for the draft. They had multiple screens showing various games and highlights, but we even hooked our laptop to the tv for everyone to see, even the draft party next to use thought it was cool. The private area we reserved was spacious and equipped with everything we needed for our draft—plenty of seating, power outlets for our devices.

Came to this location over the weekend with my boyfriend to grab food. After being noticed waiting by three different servers and expecting for someone to guide us to a table or give us any direction at all, another group of customers walked in and let us know they think we seat ourselves. Our party and the other party walked to some open tables and sat down. Almost immediately, the party who came in after us was greeted and had their order taken. We sat thinking that must have been an oversight and waited longer for some semblance of customer service. I started reading reviews and noticed that one of this establishment’s larger complaints is the lack of timely service, but seeing as how the other group was quickly taken care of, I started wondering if we were being ignored because my partner is a black man.
