I am a widow who has never dined in a fine restaurant like Legends, completely on my own. I had been through a very difficult week healthwise – – actually medically forced to be on a liquid diet for 5 days and also dealing with a possible eviction from a place I have lived for 30 years. I felt I was long overdue to deserve a nice dinner. In fact, I had not been in any restaurant to eat in approximately 4-5 yrs. It is a rare occurrence for me and my budget.
Madison S was my waitress. The first words she said to me were, “When I saw you were dining alone, I knew you had a story. I’m so glad you chose to come in tonight. I don’t believe it was an accident you came here“. She gave me chills—literally—when she said that. If you believe as I do, that the Holy Spirit can reveal truths about someone they’ve never met, I knew the little nudge to choose Legends was no accident, but from God. She sat down to hear my story and I was concerned she would get in trouble for doing so. We had the most amazing conversation that I will never forget! Madison left a lasting impression on my heart beyond the most personable service I have EVER received in a restaurant.
I asked if I could speak to her manager so I could put in a good word. Kayla was the front area manager that evening and we had a most amazing “get to know each other” conversation. I know there are 2 Kaylas’ in management, so this is the one who had been a corrections officer. When I told her I had been concerned that Madison sat down at my table, she informed me that this Legends location was family-owned, and credited them with why the servers go beyond taking one’s order and bringing one’s meal. They believe in true customer service on a personal level.
To my impression of the restaurant experience: the place was clean and felt “homey” with the soft lighting. When I opened my menu, I thought I was going to be in trouble since there were no prices listed. I took by faith that was where I was to eat and placed my order. When the bill came it was fair and not over-priced. The food was amazing, but possibly tasted even better because of the great service! I will definitely go in again sooner instead of later, because of the unusual experiences I encountered with Madison and I know the food is delicious!
Before I left, I asked for Madison‘s story. I appreciated her forthrightness and being so open. She shared private things with me, so will say I pray for her continuously and for God to watch over her. God has chosen to make her a mother and I know she will put that child’s safety and welfare first before her own. So happy for her with that precious miracle of life she is carrying. (She wouldn't take the tip I put on my receipt, so will have to find another way to be a blessing to her.)
I highly recommend eating at this location and please, ask for Madison. She is the best in my book!
May I make a personal plea to anyone who reads this? Whenever someone provides a service to you, whether it’s the one who takes your call to a company you’ve reached out to, your bagger at the grocery store, or the waitress/server where you eat, why not ask to speak to their manager and put in a good word for them? Some places like Chewy’s, reward their employees when they get personally acknowledged. You know if it is a complaint they are all over that in a minute. Let’s start leaving encouragement in such a way that it doesn’t cost us anything but has a far...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant this past weekend. We had a huge group. Probably 40 people or so. It was a football team and the parents. Everything went great on the beginning. The servers were excellent. They did the dang thing. Was very proud. All our food was good. Nothing has to be sent back. It was wonderful. Until the end. We had an amazing parent whose business sponsored this dinner for everyone. The bill was on one check. The amazing gentleman paid for the food. Tipped. And we left. Apparently the servers missed putting a check on our bill somehow. Thr staff of this establishment took it upon themselves to speak to a CHILD that was with our group and told the child we missed a bill. Some of the team were staying at the hotel next door. The staff of this business goes over to the hotel KNOCKING ON RANDOM TEAM MEMBERS HOTEL DOORS to get the check paid for. Somehow they got the phone number of a coach and called her and explained the situation. The team was not all together at this time and the coach had to contact the gentleman who paid. THE STAFF THEN TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO GO ON FACEBOOK AMD FIND OUR TEAM NAME ANS STARTED MESSAGINH MEMBERS OF THE PAGE DROPPING NAMES AND RUNNING THE GENTLEMAN WHO PAIDS NAME IN THE MUD!
First and foremost. We and the servers originally thought the bill was paid. They even said Tjay on the phone twice that yes, we thought we paid.
This mistake was on the restaurant. We do not mind to pay for what we ordered but this mistake was on the staff and should have been a learning lesson. This is the most unprofessional staff I have ever seen in my life.
You do not go to random people’s hotel rooms. You do not talk to minor children about an unpaid bill. You do NOT go on Facebook and try to find your guest. Especially messaging people who weren’t even in attendance and dropping names.
We will be looking...
Read moreA true disappointment. I've eaten here before and the food was standard; nothing remarkable. Sunday, 8/11 my wife and I were there to celebrate a friend's 84th birthday and what a tremendously disappointing experience! I ordered the 'Sunday Special' with fried okra and Jack Daniels apples. The apples were flat and tasteless, like they came straight from the can. The 'special' was an ice cream scoop of a mixture of chicken bits, dressing, and mashed potatoes. There was barely any chicken, and the dressing was definitely a dry mix. The okra, on the other hand, any other restaurant would have been EMBARRASSED to have served. The okra was on at least its second time being reheated in a microwave and weren't edible. I complained to the waitstaff, but she just shrugged it off. No apologies, offer of replacement, or discount. We had pointed out that it was our friend's birthday when we placed our order and watched four other tables have a celebrant honored. We had to remind our server about our celebrant after about ten minutes after we had all finished what we could eat of our meals because no celebration was coming our way. Lastly, I assume that the restaurant expects to get paid, but after waiting about fifteen minutes after the birthday dessert was finished, we had to flag our server again for the check. I was amazed as we were leaving that there were several people waiting for a table, too. There must have been thirty waitstaff milling around the restaurant with only about twenty-five percent occupancy....
