Wendy's — Restaurant in Shelbyville

Okay so to start this review i would like to mention that I am a former employee ( as well as the friend i went with ) Now before I start - this review will describe something that's pretty alarming coming from SEVERAL employees that were working at the time of the incident. So my friend ordered a spicy chicken sandwich combo around 9PM on Thursday 5/14/20, and it seemed to be extensively overcooked, had a strange color, and was as hard as a rock. They agreed to replace my order, but mentioned that ALL of the chicken that would use to replace it would end up the same way....

As a FORMER EMPLOYEE, i asked out of pure curiosity why that was occurring and suggested they replace the grease..

WE WERE THEN MADE AWARE THAT ALL OF THEIR CHICKEN HAD THAWED DUE TO THE FREEZER BEING LEFT OPEN FOR SEVERAL HOURS....

AND the mind - blowing part of all this, is that the general manager and district manager were instructing employees to serve this BAD FOOD DESPITE WHAT HAD HAPPENED..

In order to save costs, this place is being run by folks who would literally risk the health of their customers in order to not have to replace ruined...

I really thought with the new opening, things would be different. But it wasn't. No one in the restaurant and no one in line, yet it took 4 minutes (I had somewhere to be and was attentive to the time) for someone just to say, I'll be with you in a moment. 2 minutes went by and nothing. When you have somewhere to be, that time goes very slow. So, I drove around again to simply pick up an online order through the app that was marked "Completed". I had to bypass the speaker and go to the window and honk. Received my food (my fault for trusting it would be right) and arrived to my destination only to open my food and find fries that are supposed to be large, looked like a small order from McDonald's with all the semi burnt endings. My sandwiches were cold enough that it didn't even melt the cheese. The piece of lettuce and tomato look like it was made from a paper cutter. I swear, no matter how many times I go here, the service is horrible and the food is always wrong. Even with the "new opening". AGAIN, it was MY FAULT for assuming things would be different. But Wendy's is just a place I love going to. LOVED going to. Do...

I can't say enough nice things about this Wendy's! The staff are nice and courteous, helpful to those who have questions, and just over all cool people to deal with. I normally go once or twice a week while at work. I order using the app, and customize my order to my preferences, and within about 5 minutes I show up and the food is hot, ready, and prepared properly. Sure I've had a couple orders not be entirely right but that's understandable. Especially since, if that does happen, normally it's because they're insanely busy at that time. I've never taken anything back before, but I have seen other people do it. The manager at that time (noon-ish) is always nice and always makes the customer feel vindicated by the end of it. I have a bad experience with most Wendy's that I have had the displeasure to eat at. This is NOT one of those Wendy's, the food is actually amazing. I live in tullahoma, and travel to Bedford County for work. I would rather drive all the way to Shelbyville to eat at their Wendy's instead of eating at the one in tullahoma.
