Whiskey John’s RestoBar — Restaurant in Shelbyville

Since the new owners took over the old Cob's Bar around Jan 2016, they have consistently made improvements. The double cheeseburger is the best in Shelbyville, and I have eaten everywhere, haha.

The hand breaded tenderloins are huge and also great, as are many other menu items. They serve very large portions for hungry hard working men. Not small diet sized portions for petite girls, haha.

They offer non-menu special items each week, such as pork chops, breaded jumbo shrimp, stuffed shrimp, pretzels and cheese, and more, as well as various soups and chili during the colder months.

I have eaten here, or ordered carry out, many times since West side Pub and Grub took over and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. The prices for food and alcohol are very fair, and they have various drinks specials too.

The bar keeps busy on weekends as they have various live singers/ bands play on certain nights. The bar is very clean, well lit, and getting hi-tech with their new computerized food and drink ordering system, haha.

They really turned this bar around and made it into something great. Cob's rarely had any customers, and Pub n Grub sometimes over packs the parking lots requiring customers to park on the alley, because they are so busy.

This is alot nicer than it used to be. We were there for lunch. The fish & chips were good, came with cole slaw, my sister-in-law said it wasn't as good as hers but it was pretty good. We shared the meal, there were about 4 pcs - this looked like it was caught that morning, so you knew it was "fish" 💖 French fries were better than McDonalds. I got a side salad, it was overloaded with croutons & tomatoes could of had more variety - cucumbers, green pepper (their in season) but atleast it was green . It's a bar , the place was probably booming last night with "Lindsey Flannery"!!!💕 this place does have a "Tenderloin" Sandwich if anyone wants to know. Food was good service was friendly and attentive without being obnoxious. Going to come back and try something else next time. We had the chef salad, huge, fresh, and the Pretetzs and cheese, crisp on the out side and soft and warm on the inside. Dipping cheese was warm and fresh. Very reasonable prices. The only downside was the bathroom could have used a good cleaning. Everything else was quite spotless so I was a little shocked by the bathroom but not enough to keep me from...
