I've eaten here before and haven't had too many instances where I was upset with the food or the service. Today was a little bit different though, here's why.

Within the last two weeks I have gotten the same meal twice. The meal itself was within norm and pleasing (Although someone in that kitchen is a really big fan of butter as it was a far cry too much) but it was the pricing that caused me to question things.

The last meal I got there was about $12 and change but this time it was above $15.00 for the exact same meal. I questioned why the meal on my ticket without any of my drinks was $9.99 when the menu itself says $7.99. The individual I spoke with immediately mentioned taxes. I explained that a 6% tax wouldn't invoke a $3.00 rise in the overall price of the meal.

He then switched to the current price of eggs (which is all fine and dandy but that should be reflected in the price on the menu or there should at least be a flyer or note on the menu or at the counter stating why a difference will be reflected on the bill) . admittedly, I'm not the most observant of people but I didn't notice any info regarding the matter posted anywhere in the restaurant. I only noticed because I use cash for most purchases and brought what I needed for it plus the tip. Thankfully this time I brought a twenty and it worked out. He did claim to discount my meal but I still feel this didn't need to happen in the first place if they had just been transparent with their pricing from the start of the transaction. It felt like those placed with extra fees for this and that and I only learn about those additional fees after the service had been administered.

I honestly feel that there was an attempt to be slippery with the customer's bill. as soon as I grabbed the menu again to compare the prices I noticed while I did so the individual I dealt with was trying not to be noticed watching me. I'm almost certain he was already trying to cook up his response to my argument during that time. I also understand that none of us are perfect and that we do make mistakes. This is why I've elected not to place the name of the person themselves into the review. I'm unsure if I will be returning to this...

I honestly can't believe why this restaurant does not have five stars. First I have to give kudos to the wait staff. We have been here a few times and we've had two different waitresses and each of these ladies has gone out of their way to check on us multiple times, to apologize profusely when one item was wrong on one of the meals, and to be as personable as possible to everyone in the restaurant. We went a few months ago and the food was amazing.. ten Stars and we got a senior meal. Yesterday I got liver and onions with three huge pieces of liver, loaded with gravy and onions, a huge serving of mashed potatoes and a very large salad. The second that we walked in the door we were greeted by our server and immediately seated and given drinks. My husband and I each ordered a senior meal and we both commented on how huge the portions were. At one point one of the folks from the back came out to look around, smiled and returned to the back. I read a review that mentioned how the dark-skinned people come out and glare at you. I have no idea what that person is talking about. This young man could not have been any friendlier. Is it a typical diner? Yes but it holds its own for sure. I'm telling you this is some of the best food I've tasted in a long time. And they're most definitely generous with the portions. Pricing was fair as well. Like I said this time I got the liver and onions with gravy, mashed potatoes and a salad. Last time I got the turkey and stuffing mashed potatoes and a salad. Honestly that senior meal was so much that I made three meals out of it and I can eat my fair share. I was a little leery at first when we drove into the parking lot because we were only one of the few people there but it got a bit crowded later. Give this place a try. I don't think you'll be...

I tried to call to share this with the manager before coming to write a review, but they refuse to come to the phone and basically said whoever took my call can help me, which I’m pretty sure the person on the phone was who I was going to complain about and it was just very unprofessional. Went to dinner on Sunday and the waitress was very rude & unprofessional. At one time she was just gossiping. She basically told us not to eat anything there that’s turkey. She listed off many things on the menu to not get it basically said the food was gross. Not something you want to hear when you come eat. There were multiple things that we tried or thinking about ordering and she just said not to do it. It was very hard for us to enjoy our time. and when it seemed like the manager of some sort, walked up to our table to check in she came Us which seemed like to make sure we weren’t talking about her. Just a very uncomfortable time. on top of that the food was horrible. I got a Caesar salad wrap, but nothing really caesar about it. tortilla was hard and...

After visiting the Parx Casino in Shippensburg, we searched Google for a restaurant. I’d seen this new owner and was curious. So, we chose KMJ Diner on the north end of town. The landscape looked unkempt, but I was hungry. In we went…it was a good choice. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. After a few questions, I ordered a Tuesday special of pork and sauerkraut. My partner ordered breakfast, which is served all day. Our drinks were kept filled. Thanks. We were seated in the front. New flooring made for unpleasant sound while wait staff dumped dishes. Ask to be seated in the back if you are sound sensitive. I wear hearing aids. The food was good. Not salty but flavorful. One pet peeve is the oil used to fry home fries. This oil was not fake butter. It didn’t override the taste of potato. Give this relatively new owner a thumbs up.

A joyous experience! Me and my friend were traveling, after a night of catching up and enjoying cocktails, we indeed needed some nourishment the following day. What a pleasant surprise when we discovered this little gem of an establishment. I enjoyed the steak and eggs, with a side of French fries, the steak was cooked to perfection, succulent and juicy! My friend enjoyed a delicious rendition of chipped beef, and a side of bacon! The meal to say the least was fabulous, and our server Krista B was on point, welcoming us with open arms, with pleasant conversation and on point service. I urge you, don’t walk run to KMJ diner, request Krista!

Friendly host, great prices, great portions, very clean diner, plenty of parking. The only critique I have for this visit is as an out-of-towner, it would have been nice for our waitress to inform us that she doesn't take the payment at the table, we can go up to the koisk at the front desk to be checked out. We waited at the table for about 8 minutes after she handed us the check and when she sat down at the bar with her back to us we were wondering what was going on. Decent place overall, just some instructions for paying the bill would have been nice. We ordered the egg and cheese sandwich special and the KMJ Diner Breakfast special.
