Despite all the indoctrination from the cereal industry, I usually don’t eat breakfast. A cup of coffee is fine for starting the day, then I get an early lunch and all is well. Occasionally, hunger or a hankering for breakfast food makes me change up my pattern. The other day, I was on my way home after a lovely night out and I felt the need for eggs. I checked in with Google, who showed that FloAnna’s was close to my route home. I wondered for a bit because I had been there years ago and had a vague memory of not liking it. My wondering included the thought that the last time might have just been a bad day. Or, they may have changed. Or, I had ordered something they were not good at. In any case, I settled on giving them another chance. The place is on Lake City Way, but Google had a trick to get into the parking lot from the rear that avoided having to cross traffic for the left turn. There was a big parking lot that was full of signs that said no parking. I looked around a bit and found a way to get into the parking lot that was clearly part of the restaurant. There was only one spot left. I snagged it and went in. The menu says that FloAnna’s was founded in 1993. The 30 years of wear and tear shows. Everything looks a little run down. I was led to a four top that had 4 different coffee cups. I flipped one up and it was quickly filled with coffee. Not great coffee, but good enough for a diner. The menu included all the usuals - eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, etc... If you have seen my other breakfast reviews, you will not be surprised that I went for the chicken fried steak and eggs. My waitress fired questions at me to determine that I wanted sausage gravy, poached eggs and wheat toast. Another waitress topped off my coffee and I did a little reading. I did not get too far in my reading when the food showed up. The hashbrowns looked good. The toast was just right. The rest of the meal had flaws. The poached eggs were way over done and the steak was drowned in gravy. The solid eggs were as expected. I added lots of salt and pepper. The gravy was just wrong. I suspect it was burned at some point. The coffee waitress kept my cup filled and my waitress made sure I got the bill long before I was done. Otherwise I was ignored. I finished my food and picked up the bill. Restaurants are expensive these days, so this bill was not unexpected. I put my card on the table and got plenty of reading done while I waited for it to be picked up, processed and returned. The pen they gave me for tipping and signing was dry. I scratched the info on the check and left it to them to figure it out. I don’t think I was give them...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Flo-Anna's Diner, and I must say, it was an experience worth raving about! We visited for breakfast and ordered the Meat Lover's Omelette, and from the very first bite, we knew we were in for a treat. The omelette was absolutely delicious, packed with a generous amount of bacon, sausage, and ham, all perfectly cooked and seasoned. The eggs were fluffy and light, enveloping the hearty fillings in a way that made every mouthful a delight. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality, and the attention to detail in the preparation really showed. But it wasn't just the taste that impressed us—the portions were substantial, leaving us feeling fully satisfied without being overly stuffed. It’s refreshing to find a place that truly values giving their customers great value for their money. Speaking of which, the prices at Flo-Anna's are very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality of the food. It’s the kind of place where you leave feeling like you’ve gotten more than your money’s worth. The diner itself has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. It’s clear that Flo-Anna’s isn’t just about serving food—it’s about creating a warm and inviting environment where customers can enjoy a great meal and feel like they’re part of the family. Overall, I can’t recommend Flo-Anna's Diner enough. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for breakfast—you won't be disappointed! We will definitely be returning to try more of their delicious offerings. Five stars...

Family-run and full of heart, Flo-Anna’s has all the charm of a nostalgic neighborhood diner while delivering hearty meals that keep people coming back for decades.
We recently stopped in for breakfast, and it’s easy to see why it’s a favorite. The portions are generous, the coffee is hot and constantly refilled, and the food feels like comfort on a plate. Our table was covered with all the diner essentials—Waffle House style waffles, perfectly fried eggs, hash browns, toast, corned beef hash, sausage, and English muffins with jam. Every plate was satisfying, flavorful, and served with a smile.
What sets Flo-Anna’s apart is its balance of classic American diner staples and a unique touch of Greek heritage. On the first Thursday of every month, the diner hosts a special Greek night, offering homemade Mediterranean dishes alongside the regular menu of omelettes, burgers, sandwiches, and country-style dinners.
The atmosphere matches the food—warm, casual, and welcoming, with staff that treat you like family. It has that cozy “back in time” diner vibe but with the kind of service and consistency that only comes from years of dedication to...
