El Paso | Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Short Pump

As this was my first experience at El Paso Mexican Restaurant , it will be my last. Upon our arrival , the waitress offered me a table while I waited for my friend to come in. We were then seated in a very uncomfortable table set. A new waitress came to take our order . We were studying the menu since we had never been there before. The waitress seemed to rush us. I asked her about certain items or if they have a sampler meal. I figured out she didn't understand us( no english I believe) so we ordered drinks and asked her to come back. While we looked at the menu another "waitress" came , took the order. Our food came in a short while steaming hot. We ended up not really enjoying the meal. Since my friend had no clue as to some of what we ordered, we asked for take home trays and paid for the meal and left. They did offer me a refill on my drink while we were eating but not my friend. They are totally unprofessional. I had a family celebration and 5 days before I went to reserve a table. I made a reservation for 12 people. They took the name, phone number and wrote down the necessary information for reservations. When we arrived, the restaurant was full and we were told that we had to wait an hour or two for a free seat. I called for a reservation and the waitress told me that they don't accept reservations. Really?? So why wasn't I told that five days before, when they were taking my reservation??? Totally unprofessional. How did I feel when I had to tell my guests that we had to wait?? Of course, we went to another restaurant, and I do not recommend El Paso to anyone because of the rudeness of the staff. Was it difficult to tell me right away that they don't take reservations and not wait for me to come with 12 people and then tell me that they don't...

We have been eating at this place for the past couple years. We will either eat there, or pick up to go. The food has always been very good, and the service great. However, the last 3 times that we have called in an order to pick up, they have screwed it up! The first time the only sent the appetizer out of an order for dinner for four adults, the second time we got the large shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and when we opened it, there were maybe 5 shrimp and it was missing the red tomato sauce which is the main part of this dish, and the third time it was also an incomplete order!! Everytime this has happened my husband calls the manager to let him know, and since we're not going to take the car out to drive there again yo get whatever they messed up, they just say they will give us a discount for the next order....
