Black Optix Tint — Local services in Short Pump

This is the 3rd black optix location I’ve tried over the years on various vehicles. The first location cut up my weather stripping with a razor blade. The second location’s install wasn’t bad but very rundown and not professional. I chose this innsbrook location for my brand new truck. The staff had me in and out faster than I’ve ever been at any other tint shop. After a week of my truck sitting I noticed probably 30 bubbles still in my tint and and several other installation defects. I messaged the shop and they agreed to redo the job. Drove back up and waited a little longer this time and the guys even pulled it out in the sun light to try to address any imperfections. The inside of the shop is poorly lit and they simply can’t see all the trash and imperfections on the install. I got it home and found the 2nd job to be better than the first. Still not a clean professional install you would expect from a legit tint shop. I found several specs of trash on each window and then on the passenger side was a 1/4 inch piece of hair under the film. I sent a photo to the shop of the hair in the same message chain and they simply stopped responding to me. I know they saw the message, they just just neglected to address their 2nd failure at an acceptable install. I ultimately had to heat and work the film myself to get the water out from around the hair and to get the film to stick without it being very noticeable after it cured. The guys were nice enough but the bottom line is if you want a clean professional job without debris all in your tint, go elsewhere. Wanting a clean install on a brand new 55k vehicle shouldn’t be too much to ask when installing tint is your company’s bread and butter. 4 hours of my time and a half a tank of gas ended up in them ignoring me and having to fix...

Black Optix Tint with their communication, accommodation and the overall installation of the tint itself for me was great. The people at this shop are extremely friendly and hard working as well and want to make that super clear. However I did bring in my brand new 2023 Ford Mustang GT (Premium) with 100 miles in pristine condition to them. While I understand this is a really busy tint shop which requires some messy installation and not a car detailing service, however, after the installation I noticed my passenger side door was left ajar (good thing I noticed it before leaving) and the overall interior of my brand new car was just left as a gigantic mess.

Shoe marks were all over the back side of my front seats, other stains and spots all over my leather interior, and, somehow, all over the inside of my trunk as well. Even though I covered the areas as best I could beforehand with throwaway aftermarket covers because, again, I understand this is a tint and not a detailing shop... this still could have been minimized a little bit. There's other tint shops in our area that install Maxpro brand ceramic tints (what Black Optix Tint uses) at a far cheaper rate so I just didn't expect my brand new interior to be left with such a mess by our most premium and most expensive shop is all.

How would you like it if I worked on your brand new car and left your interior as a huge mess for you to clean up afterwards?

Overall I still really do appreciate Black Optix Tint on everything else they provided me along with a lifetime warranty and sincerely thank all the hard workers at this busy shop. I got a new car and felt fairly unprotected sitting in it as I could be seen easily, I also take many road trips and didn’t want my dog roasting in the sun coming through the windows while I was driving.

I knew nothing about tint going into the shop or what it was meant to do. I assumed it was only to prevent people from seeing inside.

Steven and Isaiah were extremely knowledgeable about their products and explained the differences. I had a 1:00pm appointment and I think I finally made my decision around 1:30pm and never felt rushed.

I went with their middle of the road option as it seemed to provide a really good quality tint with their heat rejection technology and at a really good price.

I was struggling to decide on how dark I wanted my tint to be as I struggled to see out of my last car at night time. They did an amazing job helping me select the proper darkness and while aesthetics weren’t near the top of my list, I must say it made the vehicle look pretty cool.
