Akoya Kitchen — Restaurant in Virginia

I had the pleasure of dining at Akoya Kitchen, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was immediately drawn to its elegant decor and impeccably clean surroundings. The ambiance was both warm and inviting, setting the stage for a memorable meal.

Owners: The friendly owners greeted us with genuine warmth, making us feel at home and well-attended to throughout the evening. Their passion for providing exceptional hospitality was evident in every interaction, and it added a personal touch that made the dining experience truly special.

Food: The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Crunchy Sushi Roll and Steak Hibachi. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that even the heartiest of appetites would be satisfied. The Crunchy Sushi Roll was expertly crafted, featuring a delightful contrast of textures from the crisp tempura and the tender crab.

As for the Steak Hibachi, it was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a robust, smoky flavor that permeated every morsel. The accompanying vegetables were cooked just right, maintaining their vibrant colors and fresh taste. The star of the show, however, was the restaurant's signature Yum Yum sauce. This velvety, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce elevated my steak habachi to a whole new level, creating a symphony of flavors that left me craving more. Note: They make your food fresh whereas a normal quick habachi spot may leave your food on the side to reheat via their stove.

In addition to the exquisite food, the cleanliness of the restaurant was truly commendable. The attention to detail extended not just to the food and service but also to the immaculate dining area and restrooms, showcasing the owners' commitment to providing a top-notch experience.

Yesterday after work I decided to stop at Ayoko for the Yelp Elite week event. They are in a plaza so parking varies but it wasn't busy so there was a lot of parking spaces. Upon entry I was immediately greeted by Eric. He was very attentive and easy going with the order. For the elites we were served with 1 complimentary bento box and a drink. We had 2 options (chicken or tofu). I ordered the Chicken Bento box and the veggie dumplings with a drink. I also purchased a side of Shrimp Tempura sushi rolls. I am giving them a 3 stars because I had to recook the chicken and the size was small for $14 even as a complimentary tray the regular purchase would be the same size. The entree was very delicious upon my dislike to the chicken not being done to my liking. The veggies were fresh and well flavored as the rice. I gave my boyfriend the veggie dumplings which he stated was very good and he also purchased a side of the California sushi rolls which he also stated they were good!! Overall I liked the interior settings and would return for sushi. They have decent parking and the service was pleasant. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by some of the friendliest staff in the business. They're knowledgeable, attentive, and always eager to help you make the right dining choices.
