"Us Up North" Kitchen — Restaurant in Shreveport

I love local eating spots. This was first time eating at Us Up North. It was Fish Fry Friday...Celebrating North Louisiana Cuisine. Upon entering the building, we were greeted by the young lady behind the counter. She was very nice. Answered any questions that we had. I ordered the special of course. It was fried catfish fillet, french fries, and hush puppies with (my choice of side) mash potatoes and gravy. The wait time wasn't long at all. Food was delicious. The catfish was seasoned just right and not fried too hard. Ohhh, and the dessert...peach cobbler!!! Delicious as well and just the way I love it, not too many peaches and lots of crust!!!😍 Chef Hardette came out and spoke to and with everyone that dined in.

I also enjoyed the food documentaries that were being shown in the restaurant. Another unique thing about this building is #the butterflyeffect painting on the side of the building. So cute. Definitely looking forward to taking a pic.

I will definitely be returning to Us Up North. There are other things on the menu I'm looking forward to trying, especially the cornbread. Chef Hardette is known for being a cornbread expert. Best wishes to Us Up North owners and staff. Great food and great service will take you a...

Ms. Harris is a beautiful lady inside and out and her food is so amazing. We met her one day when looking for a down home Southern cooking restaurant. Well she was not open at the time but gave us several good recommendations for a restaurant but told us if we were ever back in town to give her a call and she would fix us a meal to die for. I wasn't sure if she was serious or not but gave her a call anyway and she remembered me right away. We made arrangements to meet at a certain time and we were not disappointed.
