While not longer an operating water works facility, the City of Shreveport has done a fabulous job of preserving their historic plant with much of the original equipment remaining in place. If you have time in Shreveport take the time to come out to this free museum. This is a great place to learn and discover about our past as a country. What did those before us do? What did they build? Although this is just for this region you can see what one would have to do survive and care for what was around them.
