We were so excited to see Nate Bargatze. We are such a huge fan of his. We drove almost 6 hours from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Shreveport, Louisiana to see his show and were sadly disappointed in the fact that we could not hear anything in the venue. My husband went to the help desk to notify them and multiple other people were there with the same problem. The woman told him they were working on it. This was during the opening act. My husband and I still could not hear when Nate started to perform and so he went downstairs again to ask for help. More people were down there with the same issue. My husband missed mostly the entire show and I could not hear anything. The venue said to reach out to Ticketmaster about the issue since they could do nothing about issuing a refund. We spent about $70 in gas, $300 on a hotel room, and used a PTO day to see our favorite comedian plus paid the price for the ticket. We’re so sad that the trip was a waste and if anything we hope this will help future comedians not book this venue...
Read moreOn my most recent visit , it was for an outside event - Taco Wars . Great event and I never knew they were doing stuff outside the auditorium . There's so much going on in Shreveport these days it's hard to keep up with all of it .
The Municipal Auditorium is about the most well-known place in Shreveport . It is also called "The Cradle of the Stars " . There was a country music show there starting in the 50s (maybe 40s) where the greatest singers and musicians in country music played before the Grand Ole Opry accepted them . If you name a country star from the 50s and 60s , they played the Municipal . Even Elvis got famous from the national broadcast from the Municipal ! You could spend days looking at the photos of stars who played there . And many other music genres and other entertainment has taken place there . I can't do it justice ...

A musician friend had forewarned me about it. This auditorium and stage were built for acoustic sets- remember the Louisiana Hayride era - that’s what most of it was. Modern amplifier stacks and sound production causes way too much echoing and alters the quality of sound. I didn’t see attempt at baffling using the curtains, drops, baffle props, etc. I’ve been in similar era auditoriums that have such equipment, hearing bands from ZZTop to BBKing to Ricky Skaggs to Foreigner- all sounded superb when the stage is appropriately managed. Despite that, it was a good evening. Personnel were friendly ans polite, ticketing...
