I recently visited Koi, the new sushi and Asian fusion spot in Shreveport, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance at Koi is both hip and elegant, providing a modern dining experience that's perfect for a special night out or a casual yet sophisticated meal with friends. The decor is tastefully done, creating an inviting atmosphere that blends contemporary style with a touch of Asian flair.

Moving to the food, I tried several dishes, each more captivating than the last. The Crazy Rich Asian Roll was a delightful medley of flavors, and what's particularly noteworthy is that it uses a real lobster tail (who uses real lobster in sushi?). This adds a level of luxury and taste that's hard to match, making the roll stand out. The Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was an absolute highlight; the contrast between the crispiness of the rice and the cool, spicy tuna was executed beautifully, making it an addictive appetizer. But the real surprise was the Himalayan Roll - an interesting and inventive dish served on a block of Himalayan sea salt with cucumber, adding a unique twist that was both refreshing and flavorful. It was fantastic. Additionally, the Miso Cod was a revelation; it literally melts in your mouth, embodying the "umami" savory sense in a delicate way.

The service was attentive and friendly, aligning well with the upscale yet welcoming vibe of the restaurant.

Absolutely phenomenal! Dining at Koi Asian Fusion was an out-of-this-world experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what truly made the evening unforgettable was our server, Kym. Her attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and expert recommendations elevated the entire experience. She went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect.

We started with the dumplings, and let me tell you, they were bursting with flavor—each bite was a delightful blend of savory goodness wrapped in the softest dough. Next came the salmon miso soup, and I can’t stress enough how rich and flavorful it was! The broth was perfectly balanced, and the salmon was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth.

Of course, the sushi was the star of the evening. Every roll was impeccably fresh and expertly crafted. The flavors and textures came together in perfect harmony—each bite was pure bliss. We finished the meal with the bao buns, which were soft, pillowy, and stuffed with the most delicious fillings. A perfect, mouthwatering ending to an already stellar meal.

We ordered the Califlour bites sauce on the side as an appetizer, and it didn't disappoint. We also ordered two orders of salmon and Bluefin Nigiri and one order of O-Toro and asked for it to be cut into 4 slices with a cucumber avocado roll to eat with it. It was all amazing. We had the Crazy Rich Asian roll. My wife didn't care for the umami of the truffle oil, but I loved it. We also ordered the Tokyo Drift roll and were disappointed by the overcooked ribeye, but our bartender was awesome and receptive to our feedback, and the company at the bar and atmosphere was a great time. While execution needs subtle attention, we will definitely be back again soon. The hospitality and friendship of this place makes it a gem on Line Avenue. When I go alone I get the Koi Sushi Deluxe (10) & Cali Roll, it's never disappointed but it would be a special touch if they put one piece of O-Toro on the plate and might encourage future orders.
