Dad and I had a late lunch here for Father’s Day, our first visit. The staff was friendly and promptly seated us. They have an extensive menu of traditional Mexican dishes and many updates on the classics. The food was ready while we were still taking the first sips of our drinks, served on piping hot plates in generous portions. Dad had two beef enchiladas with green chili and I had the Imperio Enchilada. The food was good, well seasoned, but mild. We were delighted to be treated to a yummy fruit crepe dessert in honor of Father’s Day. We will definitely be back.

I realize this is a tourist town and everything is expensive these days. But just shy of 20 bucks for a super bland burrito with liquid beans and flavorless rice is ridiculous. It was all so massively meh. Decent amount of Birria or whatever meat was in it, but I seriously wished I just would have grabbed a gas station sandwich. Double the price of a food truck burrito and worse by every metric. This is for tourists and locals that think mayo is spicy. Hate to ding a mom and pop place but it is what it is.

What a hidden gem in the state of Colorado here in Silver Cliff. This restaurant has some of the best street tacos, if not the best I’ve ever had in my life. The Carnitas in taco form or burrito form are amazing. All the different salsas they bring you are homemade and full of intricate flavors. I tried to get better pictures of the food, but it is hard to resist once it is placed in front of you. The employees are also friendly and welcoming.

Updated from 4-5 stars: My word, y’all have really stepped up your game! This was our third visit and I swear the quality keeps getting better.

Colorado is full of terrible Mexican food. Watered down recipes for white pallets that leave much to be desired. Not here. These are some fantastic recipes she’s using, made with love and measured with instinct and years of practice.

Ive tried Birria at over a dozen restaurants between Houston and Denver and have never been impressed. This is the real deal. I’ve only ever had better Birria once and it was made by a professional chef from Mexico City for her family. This is 9/10, I promise, you’ll never find better at a restaurant, especially not in Colorado! Everything is good here but the Birria is exceptional.

Lastly, thank you for making real flan. I grew up on my grandmothers flan recipe from Bolivia and I’ve never had flan at a restaurant that tasted right. It’s always too much like jello. The imperfections and air pockets are what makes flan so amazing and yours is 10/10. Light, airy, flavorful, no artificial garbage.

Never compromise your standards for good food. Thank you for pouring your heart and soul into what you do, and for being so generous with the portions of meat. Best Mexican food in...

This Mexican Restaurant is THE BEST MEXICAN IN COLORADO. We traveled from Denver to Silver Cliff for the weekend so we stopped by in after asking around town where was the best place to eat in town, and of course Imperio Azteca was highly recommended, and we couldn't agree more we had amazing service, phenomenal food, and a great atmosphere. we are so happy we found this place. we had their famous Birria Tacos, Pollo en mole, & camarones jalisco, along with some fresh made Imperio Margaritas, that were delish and one of the best ever. we also had their aguas frescas and home made 3 leches cake, and Berta's famous Flan.. which was highly recommended by everyone and of course it was out of this world. Berta was our waitress and she was amazing, please don't sleep on this place when you come to or thru Silver cliff/ Westcliffe area. we recommend this place 1000% it is worth the drive. Thank you again Berta for an amazing time cant wait to visit...
