(Long but worth it if you’re a person of color considering going to this place) 🚫
Response to Owners Response:We didnt come in at the end of the day, we came on the dot at 12:30. You had zero issues happily serving the several tables around us and outside that came in AFTER we did. They were seated after us, and had their meals politely served on time. You also saw us leaving, you were right in the kitchen but you didnt bother to come out and address us at all or explain the delay for 1.5 hours. I truly hope you reflect on this incident and be better for others, we will certainly not come back or recommend it to anyone who truly values diversity.
🚫 The Owner Sophia is a RACIST, and her utter dismissal and sheer ignorance was an embarrassment for her. If you are A Person Of Color (not white), do NOT come here and waste your money and time. We are brown Muslims, and we had the MOST terrible experience today. My cousin came from Texas and we met her here for brunch. We got here at 12:30, and we left right after 1:50, still hadn’t been served anything except for coffee. We ordered food and waited for over 45 mins and nothing came, meanwhile there were SEVERAL white customers who came in after us and all of them got served their food (and left!) while we just sat there still waiting. The owner Sophia was there, we ended up cancelling the order and leaving bc she didn’t come over once or cared that 5 customers were leaving HER restaurant unserved. The owner said “do they want it or not” when we were leaving, no eye contact or apologies or anything. AVOID THIS PLACE. We grew up in Mechanicsburg and have lived here for 30 years, and her rude behavior should not reflective of this town nor should it be tolerated. She shouldn’t be allowed to be a business owner if she can’t be inclusive and respectful to ALL.
We have never walked out of an establishment bc we felt discriminated against here. This woman does not earn the right to have her name on a building of public place of customer service. The neighborhood of Walden should consider how acceptable it is to have a business owner that can’t accept diversity in their neighborhood (which btw was diverse). Our server Kris was very nice but she also doesn’t deserve to work for a place like that.
We will be reporting her behavior further as well, that’s how terrible it was. She had ample time in the near 1.5 hours we were sitting there to negate her racism and sheer ignorance and made conscious choice not to.
If I could give zero to negative stars, I would. We ended up going to Dalicia Reatorante and Bakery in Mechanicsburg, the food was delicious and the service was pleasant and not-racist. Dalicia’s cakes are beyond amazing, go there instead. Stop spending your hard earned money at racist establishments or working for racist...
Read moreWe came here for brunch on a Sunday in July. We made a reservation online that morning and we arrived a bit early but still were seated promptly.
Our server brought us water and menus shortly after we were seated and gave us some time to decide on meals.
I had been here once before a few years ago and had the chicken and waffles and it was very good. This time we both ordered the brunch omelet - one with a side salad and one with potatoes. The food was served pretty quickly. The salad was a good. The brunch omelet has mushrooms, caramelized onions and goat cheese. There was a little too much goat cheese for my preference so I did scrape some out of it. I would have liked a little more of the onion but the eggs were good. I tasted a bit of the potatoes and they were a little dry. The omelet was served with toast as well. I had rye and thought that was a little dry too.
Our server, Georgia, was friendly and attentive. She made sure we had what we needed at all times.
The tables inside are a bit close together at least where we were sitting. It’s not a big dining room so if I would go back I maybe would request to sit outside on the patio. It looks a little more spacious and open out there. I didn’t take any pics inside because I didn’t want to be all up in the tables around us business.
From what I understand it does get very busy here so they encourage reservations. If you walk in you may have to wait.
We had an...

But let's talk about their brunch – because oh my, what a brunch it is! Their eggs Benedict menu is a revelation, offering creative variations that make choosing just one a delightful challenge. The pancakes and waffles? They're the stuff of weekend dreams, perfectly executed with that ideal balance of fluffy and crisp.
