Excellent food. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, taken to our table and given toasted Papadums and assorted relishes/chutney while we perused the menu. The place is very clean and our water glasses were never allowed to be empty. After taking our waiter's advice, we chose medium heat level for our dishes. He didn't want to blow out our mouths on our first visit. The Bhindi Masala was okra fried perfectly with a delicious, spicy sauce vegetable sauce. Rice Pilau was light and every rice grain was cooked perfectly with a lovely Saffron scent. Tandoori Chicken was a platter of spicy Tandoor roasted chicken thighs and legs with onions, peppers and a slice of lime. A bowl of Raita on the side is a must! Tearing off pieces of Garlic Naan helped to sop up the spicy sauces on our plates was a nice addition as well. The medium spice level is fairly hot. He said they will even make it mild if that is what you prefer. Next time we'll try a little bit hotter to see what it's like. My only suggestion is a little background music would have given the restaurant a nicer ambiance. So happy to have really good, reasonably priced Indian food with a friendly staff on the west...
Read moreThe food at Bollywood satisfied that craving for Indian food but thereo where some definite misses. I've noticed that in general Indian restaurant are changing traditional recipes that honestly I'm not sure why. Maybe to fit our taste buds. Anyway our favorite dishes tandoori chicken, chicken vindaloo, bhindi marsala (okra w/ onions), naan, Larcha Paratha (Northern style Indian bread). My son loved the tandoori chicken and okra and he's 8. That's saying something. Unfortunately the special tandoori lamb and aloo gobi where misses. The lamb was too tangy and very dry, almost tough. And the Aloo Gobi was under cooked and lack flavors unlike the other dishes favorite dishes. One more point, the wait staff was really friendly, but they forgot or utensils and weren't as attentive as they should be. Plus it took awhile for our food to come.
That being said I know we will go back and try other dishes and hopefully have a better...
Read moreExcellent flavor but overpriced... Ordered takeout from Bollywood last night and thought everything tasted wonderful but everything, including rice & naan, is a la carte and it's expensive for what you get. We had 2 orders of chicken tikka masala and each came in a 16oz pint container. Each container held a ton of sauce but only 7 bite size pieces of chicken in one and 8 in the other. When I say bite sized, I mean smaller than a chicken nugget. I was so surprised by the lack of chicken that I actually thought there must be a mistake and called the restaurant. They told us each order has 8-10 pieces of chicken. It would be generous to say there was maybe 4 oz of chicken in a single order for $15 each. If you want rice or naan, they have to be ordered separately. The veggie samosas were wonderful and again, the flavor of the food was wonderful. I just didn't think it was worth the price and probably wouldn't...
