One of my all time favorite places in all of SC!
A little pricey but totally worth it! Tip: ask to add their hot sauce to the pizza when they sauce it! It's not truly hot but makes a whole different explosion of goodness in your taste buds!
Glad I worked there for awhile, gave me time to experience how and what a small pizza place truly is like and how you are family there employees and regulars alike!
Best breadsticks and hot sauce, pizza is incredible as you can tell by the packed house nightly! Come enjoy food, laughter, and an all in all pleasant experience when you eat here! I was able to come by and grab a pizza to go last time I was in town and since all new staff was able to sneak in and out (while wearing my old sidewall shirt 🤣) without the long I miss you and how's life convos but how quickly I regretted it... Second I bit into my slice next door at the coffee shop I realized this is what I've been missing that void in my stomach. I make it a point to travel here while on my road trips from other states when we cut through SC.
If you havent eaten here you need to. The coffee shop next door as well as the bar the staff is all family with one another in a way you only see in small towns. As a gypsy you notice it's a rare delight! I wear my sidewall shirts weekly especially when we go try new pizza places sadly only found one place similar out of the last 8 states I've traveled and lived in since but never found a single one with the same taste, environment, and friendly staff as this place. Glad to see after a few yrs nothing has changed and only gotten better. Other locations are good don't get me wrong but this location is def their #1 store out of all the reasons that matter in a restaurant! Even after so many years!
If this doesn't make you realize how amazing their atmosphere and food is then you have to just try it yourself and see the unique and pleasant experience you will have. But if you go on a Friday or Saturday night prepare to have some good convos especially outside on the long tables with strangers while you wait but trust me it there is a wait it's totally worth it.
Don't forget to try the German Sours when in stock! Perfect mixture of pizza and beer! Especially when you have the pineapple tasting one!
If you ever wanna go on a road trip for best pizza places add this to your list then hit Kansas City MO for Grinders Pizza. It's a sidewall pizza mixed with the art district. 😉 And the 99 cent pizza place in New York NY near time square by 42nd St Greyhound station - they taste exactly like sidewall just only by the slice which is head sized 🤣
-miss ya...
Read moreUpdated 7/5/24 - It pains me to redo this review, but they are getting a 1 star. We have been going here for awhile, pretty regularly and the food is always good, but the staff.....the staff is horrible. Visit after visit they get worse and worse and don't seem to care. Every trip this year we have gone they never or rarely check in on us after we placed our order. I think at this point I have gotten up to get my own refill more than the waitress staff has. They are truly incompetent at this point you can only laugh. The only good waitress, and I apologize I do not know your name, is the girl with the Disney tattoos, everyone one else is awful. They all have attitudes, they all stand up at the takeout area or behind the bar talking, not paying attention the the bell that is ringing in the kitchen or their tables. This visit, we had the same issue, un-attentive waitress in the beginning, had to get up and get my table's refills, and now they are charging me on the bill for things I did not order. We ordered a kids menu cheese pizza and they charged me for vegan cheese and pepperoni which I never mentioned once. This place probably just lost a loyal customer, our family, and poor reviews from us (food is great, but don't bother with that staff).
To top it all off is the poor response from management. I sent an email to them about our visit one time and silence. I had to send a follow up email just to get them to respond and even then I got a "looking into it" then radio silence since. If this is how management/ownership cares about poor customer service, no wonder the staff doesn't care. It is shame, because we really enjoy their food, but time and time again, we hope for better results, but this is the last attempt for awhile.
Used to travel far to the og one and it's nice to have one in Simpsonville. Their food is still top notch. The wedge salad and pimento cheese is amazing. The pizza is fresh and the dough has a nice chew....
Read moreUgg. I keep forgetting to write this review. I go into Sidewall all the time. This review is specifically for August 31 evening. Most of the time I go to the Pelham location. Pelham location service mostly sucks. The people stand around chatting all the time, food is burnt, there is lack of urgency, they don't answer their phone and the wait is always horrible staff is not trained to think logically about how much time an order should take, they just regurgitate whatever the computer tells them, they seem to lack any care for their job and the customer
I say all that to say THIS Sidewall (Simpsonville) is absolutely the opposite. And this night in particular I had to call the manager and tell her how unbelievably great her staff was. Every employee said hello and welcomed me. When leaving every employee thanked me. When I walked past one of the girls, she actually stopped and gave ME the right of way, which is mostly rare these days. The food was mostly perfect but more than anything is was so obvious that they cared about their customers and the manager must treat them really nice, because from my perspective they all appeared to appreciate their job and serving the customer. So sorry it took so long to write this, but the fact that I still remember and am finding the time to write it, tells you how much they made an impression. THIS is the Sidewall to go to (Simpsonville). Just...
