Meadow Restaurant — Restaurant in Simsbury

Very good food and definitely worth a return visit, even though I was a bit disappointed with my meal. Restaurants that serve multiple cuisines are usually a flashing yellow light for me but they execute different styles of Asian food well. Why didn't I like my entree? Well, I love noodles - rice noodles, egg noodles, glass noodles, sweet potato noodles - if they're slippery and stretchy they're delicious to me. So I ordered the Shanghai noodles. They were described as "thin vermicelli." When I got them, though, they were crispy! To me this is like making risotto with puffed rice. I was deprived of the pleasure of slurping stretchy noodles and instead got these hard, crunchy deep fried things. That was a big disappointment and THEIR mistake since nowhere in the description was "crunchy" or "crispy" mentioned. Still, the non-noodle portion of my dish was good and so was everything else we ordered (except the lemonade - I should have just had seltzer with lemon), so...

Meadow has great food, I am a regular customer. They have been trying to feel their way out since the unfortunate recent turn of events, going take out only putting food in a cooler outside. A week ago I went to pick up my Order 30 min after I placed it, and waited another 40 min out front of the building, with about a dozen other unhappy customers. Still, with these tough times I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and returned, giving them my business just 6 days later, today. This time, I Showed up 45 min after I placed my order, based on my first experience on their new takeout process. As I got out of my car, and approached the building, one of their employees was walking back in (with full gloves/mask) and screams at me, “get back!!” and goes inside. It was really truly over the top, and unwarranted. My Food was sitting right there in the cooler as well. We went here tonight to celebrate my son’s birthday (family of 6), and had the most disappointing service. I’m not sure if they forgot to put our order in, no apologies were given, but we waited over 1 1/2 hours for our food to come. We continually saw other tables receive their meal who had ordered after us. When our meals did come, only two members of our group got their meal, then 30min later two more, then 10min later we received the last two. The last two sushi meals we received looked rushed and hastily put together compared to previous times we have eaten here, the quality just wasn’t there. The point is to eat together, and some acknowledgement from the server would have soothed us...
