This place was on my list to check out since moving here. Pastry chef Kim Wood creates masterpieces that has Vietnamese and French influences. The ingredients were fresh, locally sourced, and organic. This was located in what looked like a house converted into a bake shop in a plaza. The place was very cute, had a couple of tables, and even a toy bakery stand for my toddler to play with. Everyone there was so nice and friendly there.
I ordered a bunch of items; snickerdoodle cookie, chocolate croissants, banh truffles, mini chocolate waffle, and a Vietnamese iced coffee (yes, I shared it with my husband haha). The desserts I've tried were not too sweet, which I love, and delicious. The coffee was strong and tasty. The snickerdoodle cookie was lightly crispy outside and moist on the inside. The waffle had a lightly sweet glaze on the outside and chocolate on the inside. The chocolate croissants were flakey and yummy. The show stopper were the banh truffles; it tasted like very moist cake pops inside of a chocolate truffle; it had a golden sparkle to it too. All in all, I'm happy to have checked this place out and glad that it's close to me since I will for sure be...
Read moreI went in to Le Bahn this morning on my way to work. I had to stop at the UPS store and hadn’t had breakfast so I popped in. I hate when there’s no almond paste inside. I hate when it’s dry, and I’ve been all over the world eating pastries, as indicated by my waistline. So when I say this was the best almond croissant I’ve ever had, I mean it. It was flaky and had the perfect amount of paste on the inside. The outside was crunchy and perfect, and the almond slivers instead of sliced almonds was such a nice touch. I’ll...
Read moreIf I had to sum up Kim's shop in one word, it would be "WOW!" I don't think I have a developed enough vocabulary to express how impressive this pastry shop is. I don't personally have much of a sweet tooth, but every dessert-type item I have tried here has left me asking "How in the ** do they make this taste so good?!" Add in the savory items they offer and you can't go wrong. On top of the world-class food, the entire staff is incredibly friendly and professional and strives to make your experience with them extraordinary. This review is fairly short only because I am running out of superlatives with which to describe le Banh Patisserie; do yourself a favor and come check...
