Takeout Review:
I've read good reviews and drive by this place all the time; I always say to myself, "I've got to try that place out." We finally ordered some takeout there recently. Ordering was easy, just a simple call; pickup was also quick and easy. The parking lot was spacious and so was the restaurant. I saw people dining in there. There was a fish tank and the person that helped me was friendly. Prices and portions were comparable to other Chinese spots.
I ordered the orange chicken combo with fried rice, crab rangoons, plain lo mein for my toddlers, and my husband had the general tso combo. The crab rangoons were A+++ definitely up there with the best I've had; thin fried wonton wrapper and a larger amount of creamy, cheesey, imitation crab filling. The orange chicken was good, I'd say 4/5; not the best I've had but it did the job. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we would order...
Read moreI live in town but I know there’s not much “good” Chinese in this town. Still I ordered a take out spree because I was craving Chinese. Service was fine. The food was miserable. The Fried Chicken Wings had no seasoning. I expected traditional Chinese Wings. It’s like they tossed raw wings into a deep fryer! The only flavor here is from the frying oil. Egg Foo Yung is loaded with peas and carrots, and short of pork. The gravy tasted like it was from a jar. Their Pork Lo Mein is passable but bland. There’s plenty of pork in it though. I got 2 egg rolls. They were the highlight of the meal. The Pan Fried pork dumplings were far from fried… and the filling was disappointing. All in all it’s like I got it from a High School cafeteria. I spent $45 and was quite disappointed. No wonder this place is across the street from the High School. The food is...
Read moreI will give them credit for handling COVID 19 well. I felt safe. But the problem is before and after the fire no matter what I order, 50% of the dish is sauteed yellow onion. Cheap filler. While we all recognize that Chinese american restaurants bear no resemblance to actual Chinese cuisine , the Chinese do not use what they call American onions. I like to patronize local restaurants and every once in a while I try Tan Wong. Staff are great and the place looks great, but the food is mediocre. Not much better than store front greasy takeout hang over fodder. There are much better Asian...
