I went to Lilian for my first ever facial and I never could have imagined what a wonderful experience that it would be! I had anticipated that it would feel very procedural, kind of like a dentist appointment. This could not have been further from my experience at Illumina Skin Care. Lilian took the time to ask questions about my skin, the products I'm using currently, and my hopes for my skin moving forward. From there, she talked me through every step of the facial and let me know when I would feel a pinch here or there or if the machine sounded scarier than it would feel :) She went above and beyond, too, in making this a fully relaxing spa experience. I left feeling more knowledgeable about my skincare routine and fully relaxed thanks to Lilian's skillful massage and ambient music. Finally, I appreciated that Lilian was clearly invested in what is right for me and my skin. She did not push any products but instead gave good recommendations for me on how to look for an esthetician back home (in Seattle). I could not recommend this experience more highly! I decided to look up where to get a brazilian wax and saw awesome reviews about Lilian! Sure enough I called and was able to get an appointment right away. Lilian made me feel comfortable, talked things out step by step, was able to have a friendly conversation the whole time. I highly recommend Lilian. After my brazilian wax I made a half hour massage for the following week. Yesterdays massage was everything I needed and more. With the relaxing music and enviornment, I was finally able to relax. She told me to drink plenty of water so I would not be sore the next day. Today I feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. She focused on my upper shoulders and neck the most which is what I asked for. I have a follow up appointment scheduled for next week and can not wait to go back. I decided to try illumina on the recommendation of a friend, and also that it was close to my house. I met the owner Lillian and immediately felt comfortable. I've now been going there weekly for several months, and have had not only massages, but also facials (my first as a guy) and foot scrubs. I think the most unusual thing about Lillian is that she really gets to know you as a client. She notices and comments on changes from week to week, and that helps me a lot in focusing on what is happening in my body. She is also very technical, which I appreciate (as a software engineer). If you ask, she can explain exactly what she is doing and how each muscle feels. It's clear that she really cares for her clients and she is a lovely person as well. I can't recommend her...
