Worked here for quite a few years, and it was one of the best jobs and experienced I've had the privilege of doing. The food is great and fresh made with a healthier conscience in mind. The coffee and espresso are roasted in town and are some of the best The area has to offer. The employees are trained on how to use the machines and how coffee is supposed to be really made. The fact it's been alive and well for 20 some odd years, I believe, is a testament to it's much talked about excellence, especially in a town where things go away just as quickly as they go up. It's got a mystique about it as well, when you walk in you absolutely feel like you've been transported to a different part of the world, seeing as a lot of the decorations, art, and photographs on the walls are from the owners own personal travels and experiences. There's alot of character in this place, and there's much more to be had. One thing I think really sets this place apart is the owner himself is on the front lines almost every single day and is one of the nicest people I've ever met. He never hesitates to stop and answer a questions or just have a good talk with anyone. People like him are why things like...

Pierce Street Coffee Works will always be my go-to lunch spot. Everything is beyond fantastic. Let's start with the food, I have tried it all and have tried everything on the menu and off the menu and have not experienced anything I wasn't Beyond pleased with Burien their soups are fantastic but if you plan on getting soup go early they do run out because it's a fan favorite. Their dessert in cakes in their pastry case are always being served and flying out to customers. If you're not into their delicious coffee, I don't know why you wouldn't be, they have a whole beverage station with some pretty neat canned and bottled beverages. The most incredible thing is the staff. When you arrived they really make you feel like you're part of the family even if it's your first visit. Which will have you coming back...

How did I not know this gem was here?

Despite the construction, Pierce Street Coffee Works is open for business and has delicious smoothies, sandwiches, and (of course) coffee.

They do have both indoor and outdoor seating and are currently following state guidelines on capacity. They requested that dine-in groups limit themselves to thirty minutes or less to allow other customers a chance to enjoy the atmosphere.

Currently, I cannot recommend the outdoor seating experience as the road is torn up with current construction. However, the area as a whole is nice and includes several small businesses, which makes it a nice place to stop and enjoy a coffee outside when the road is complete.

This is a small local business, pulling through and delivering excellent service and food despite the pandemic and...

I loved the shop at Coffee Works: homey, friendly, eclectic, local events posted! Everyone was very friendly. The coffee left a bit to be desired: the auto drip was weak-tasting and uninteresting (I like my coffee strength ratio on the weaker side at 1:20, so weak for me is either less than that or a roasting defect) and the espresso was over-extracted. I liked the flavor of the espresso enough, with the characteristic sweet/sour that comes from a long pull off a slightly-too-light roast. I also witnessed a sandwich get delivered to the wrong table with no correction until the patron lacking his sandwich inquired. It was made freshly and immediately, which in my book is really great! Overall worth a stop, and if the roasting source changes it could be really exquisite coffee and food someday.

I don't care whether it's soup, a sandwich, salad, coffee, or a slice of one of their cakes, Pierce Street Coffee Works does everything well. Everything is so fresh and unique. The only problem you're going to have is deciding what to get and convincing yourself that you should try multiple things off the menu instead of falling in love with the first thing you try. This was their roasted red pepper and smoked gouda soup with their weekend special sandwich, space ghost. It had turkey, provolone, sprouts, basil, pesto mayo, and onion on wheat bread. SO GOOD. The staff/owner is incredible, everyone is so welcoming, and the atmosphere is eclectic. The owner even puts some of his artwork and what he has collected all over the space..

One of the best coffee shops in Sioux City and probably the oldest in the area. Worth checking it out. Amazing food made with fresh ingredients. A big range of signature coffee drinks, cold brew, iced coffee, iced tea, Vietnamese coffee, you name it, they have it!!! The work crew is so loving and happy all the time. They love their regulars and make them feel at home. I love the LGTBG+ FLAG at the entrance, makes me feel in a safe place. The owner Ron is so hardworking and kind to employees and customers. He is always helping around and making sure everyone is doing good. FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP IN TOWN. CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK!!
