Food gets five stars, three stars for speed and service… averaged out, 4 stars.
Food here is excellent. The chicken chipotle burrito is by far my favorite Mexican burrito in town.
My kid always gets the Caldo De Res and I’ve got to say that it’s as authentic as it gets with legit homemade flavor. The portion size on this dish is HUGE!
Service here I always seem to run into hiccups. Last time, my wife ordered online and when I arrived with my order confirmation, they had no record of my order so instead of it being ready, it wasn’t even started.
If you do want to eat there, know this. You must order first at the counter first then go sit down. They’ll take your name and then they’ll come find you when your food is ready… more on that in a bit.
Today, from order to being served was 25 minutes. I’ll let you be the judge on that but for a place with “Express” in its name, I think that misses the mark.
One thing I’m not a fan of is people stopping by the table to auction food off. They definitely need to utilize a table tent number system or something.
So, if you’re not in a huge rush, the food here is amazing. Just be ready to stand in line for a bit to order as they do stay pretty busy and wait again for your food to come out. It is worth the wait, which is why we go back when we have the time but it could...
Read moreAs a native Californian I tend to be pretty opinionated when it comes to Mexican food. A lot of restaurants here tend to lack the care that goes into a lot of the staples of a good Mexican joint.. (good beans/soft rice/good sauces/etc.) and I find myself disappointed most of the time when I decide to try Mexican in Sioux Falls.
Everything about this place reminds me of home, and is on par with some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in my life. Whether that’s in Mexico, or LA, this place rules. The first indicator it’s solid is it’s filled with actual Hispanic people, at all times of the day you’ll find families/solos/groups here. There’s ACTUAL Spanish music playing (gilibertos we don’t need to listen to Jason Derulo) and actual Spanish tv programs. The food is what matters, and everything I’ve ate here has been 10/10, I could sit here and cry over my California burrito right now because of how much this place reminds me of home. Amazing...
Read moreAs much as I liked this place me and my mom spent a half a hour waiting on our food, first we called in and the lady on the phone told us to wait and so we did, but we waited so more 5 minutes so we hanged up, we thought it was busy but when we arrived barely any cars, we ordered our food and we waited patiently meanwhile other people came and ordered their food and got their food first not to mention they had more food than us so we thought it was weird but we still waited and we saw the cashier getting distracted a lot so apparently she got so distracted she forgot about our food unbelievable we waited half a hour for nothing…. We would’ve understand if it was busy but it wasn’t, I know mistakes happen but you shouldn’t really be getting distracted at work....
