Worst customer service ever! For anything but the go-carts you have to run around and look for an employee to help you. We had a group ready to play lazer-tag, and they told us that there should be somebody back there already, (there wasn't) and he would let someone else know also. We waited for 15 min for someone, but nobody showed up, so we went and asked again, they said it was too late to start a game now, and the lady even snapped at the little girl who asked when an employee was going to show up to start our game! (keep in mind we were told to head on back, and we did, they never sent anyone and wasted our time). Also they over-booked their park the night our company was there, and had two other big groups at the same time, the general public was also allowed in during the same time so you have to spend almost 20-25 min in line just to ride one go-cart ride. (this place is not very big). Seriously, it would have been cheaper to pay for the few rides we got to go on individually, then to pay for the 50 or so wristbands we got! Then, we where in line waiting for one last go on the go carts, (since they screwed us over on lazer tag) and we waited and waited, then exactly at 10pm we were told we cant go because they were closing, yet they saw us in line, for 10 min, knew we were waiting, kept looking at us and walked passed us a bunch of times, they even let one guy and his daughter go in front of everyone else in line to get them on the carts! They never once told us that they were not going to let us on, so they just let us stand there, knowing we were in line waiting. Its an OK place for a few rides (IF you pay individually for each one) and you don't mind having to look for people to help you, that don't snap at you for asking them questions. But don't buy wristbands! Its a waste of money, and you only get your moneys worth if there is hardly any other customers there, otherwise you spend most of your time waiting in line, or looking for people to help...
Read moreIts fun, prices arent horrible. Hopefully they redo the mini golf course to make it more fun, its very basic and meh. Go-karts were fun.
Now the cons- all ride tickets have to be purchased inside, which is very inconvenient. I dont know how many times i had to go ALL the way back in to get more tickets...bit annoying. -Also, if you lose a golf ball to the water, you have to go ALL the way back in to get a new one. -the concessions are horrible. You have no idea what they even serve, did they have food? The signage is horrible, couldnt tell what was what. Except drinks, coffee and bottled drinks were very easy to read. There was almost no information on the ice cream, took us a good 5 minutes to realize what the flavors were. And their cutlery, napkins, soda lids, straws are in an inconvenient place that we had to literally search for. The lids arent by the soda machine so had to take a full cup over to lids which i spilled on the floor multiple times. And who doesnt have slushies for hot summer days?? -Also very inconvenient that you have nothing for concessions outside, not everyone wants to walk ALL the way in for something to munch on or drink. You had 10 people standing doing nothing at go-karts, 2 of them could have run a little concessions stand outside. the staff was almost nowhere to be found. You had a ton of people at go-karts and a ton of people inside. Its a saturday in july and the parking lot was full, you should have people standing at every atrraction all day. Its hot i get it...then rotate them out. Shouldnt have to push a button and wait for someone to show up. -Need misters around the place
Lots they can improve on, hopefully it gets better than the...
Read moreIncredible Work from One Standout Employee
I recently visited Thunder Road with my family, and while the overall experience was fun, I wanted to specifically shout out one employee who absolutely stood out, David (at least that’s what the other workers were calling him) he was pretty tall and had some dreads with a darker complexion.
David was doing an amazing job, and honestly, we felt bad watching him handle so much on his own. It really looked like he was the only manager or person in charge at times. He was in the garage by himself multiple times, buckling in every single go-kart rider alone, and still managed to stay calm, kind, and efficient with everyone. Even though he looked visibly tired and drained, he never let it affect how he treated the guests. That level of professionalism and patience especially during a busy day, is rare and deserves serious recognition.
For context, earlier in our visit, a different man (a pale fellow with a hat who also seemed like a manager) was working in the garage. Unfortunately, he was much slower at getting new carts out and seemed frustrated yelling at several kids who were just testing their gas pedals to see if the karts worked. The contrast between the two was night and day.
It was a packed day, and they were clearly short-staffed outside (only about 5 workers managing everything), yet David somehow kept things running smoothly and with a positive attitude. He made a lasting impression on all of us, and I really hope he gets the recognition he...
