Made reservation a week in advance for in-laws 40th anniversary. Show up and told them that we had a reservation and they kept asking if we are someone else and stated numerous times no. They tried to seat us on the casual seating side when we stated no we have a reservation on the grill side. They realized they screwed up and smashed 10 ppl (us) on a grill with another large family. I was late (I went to a gas station after I dropped family off) took a little longer than normal so wife called and said I’ll order for you. I showed up and I had my plate and utensils but no water. I asked my wife where’s my water. She said the waitress didn’t bring out 10 glasses of water even though she told her 10 glasses she only brought 9 glasses. So 15 minutes go by before I get a hold of the waitress to bring me a glass of water and a bud light. 10 mins go by and she brings me a bud light just as the chef starts entertaining us. No water though. So I try and tell her if I could get a water but she can’t hear me over the grill and grill fan. I just wave at her to just forget it for now. The chef entertainment was very good. We all were trying to get the waitresses attention but could not get her to bring any more waters and drinks for anyone. The next time we saw the waitress she was bring us the bill. She didn’t ask us how we wanted to split the bill. So we had to tell her how the bill needed to be split and if we could get some waters. Well 10 mins later we get the bills but no waters. Ugh! So we had two spend $40 get $10 off Coupons. Used on our bill of $118 and gave other coupon to brother in law for their $49 bill. Everyone gave CCs and 10 minutes again goes by. Get my bill back and my bill is now $128! The $118 was scratched out with a pen and hand written $128! Ask brother-in-law and he said his bill went up also by $5! I got disgruntled and went up to the front and explained. She can’t really explain what happened and started stuttering and said this other woman could help me. The lady said sorry but told me that the girl ringing us up is new and not very good with the till or a calculator. I said well she shouldn’t be up front at the register running bills then. I said you just can’t cross off a number with a pen and put something new in on a credit card. She took my bill and said she voided the first one and to check in a couple days at my statement. She then ran the correct bill again. I asked her how you take a coupon and instead of taking it off you add the money on the bill. She stated it’s so busy in here it happens. Well checked my account and $128 and $118 is charged on my account. She didn’t void the $128 and she didn’t run the bill that was discounted. She ran the original bill to the full amount of $118. Very disappointed on the waitress and manager....
Read moreOk so I normally don't leave reviews as it's not really my style, but I had to for this place. I want to start off by saying that the food was pretty amazing but was mixed reviews with the group that I went with. I started off with the Salmon Lover Role and absolutely loved it and could have ordered another role, but we ordered more food. There were three situations that made me leave a two-star review...
Our server was not attentive to the menu when we were ordering (he could have very well been a new worker to the restaurant). When it came time to paying the bill, it was hard to locate our waiter.
Our Teppan Chef who cooks in front of us on the hibachi table started off OK and then I quickly lost all my respect. As he started off with prepping, he asked us if we wanted sake shots and a family member across from me said he would, and the chef picked a squeeze bottle up and squirted into his mouth about a foot away with a clean shot. I said I'll do it as well and he turned to me and started squeezing the bottle in my mouth, again about a foot away, and then persisted to spray it all over my face and cloths as he backed away. The table laughed and gasped at the same time along with the nearby tables. I was shocked that the chef thought that would be funny or a good idea. Nearby tables were making comments, "Wow", "Can't believe they did that to him", I said, "What if I was driving and happen to get pulled over, you just sprayed Sake all over me". The table next to me responded to my comment and said, "Dude I agree, that was not cool". I was embarrassed that someone from the establishment would do that to a paying guest to the business. The energy quickly shifted amongst our table, and he attempted to make humor that just wasn't working out.
Once the chef was done cooking all of our food, he preceded with cleaning the table. He sprayed liquid from a squeeze bottle which then reacted to the hot stove and sprayed on my hand. He just continued to scrape the stove to clean.
This was my first time going to a Hibachi style cooking and have always wanted to go, but it wasn't the best experience. I would try it again and hope that it would be a better atmosphere and fun as the...
Read moreVery poor service. It was our first time there. When we walked in they had to repeat themselves 3 x. We finally figured out they were asking if we wanted hibachi or menu. The miso soup was good. The salad was drenched in dressing & the iceberg was in large pieces. There was 1 fork only on each place setting, no knife or anything else. The cook put on a show but did not cook well. We ordered a combination platter with steak, chicken and shrimp. The server said how good the chicken was. It was just grilled chicken breast with tereyaki sauce on it, not impressed. We ordered the steak medium rare. It was medium well to well done. The shrimp was tough & overcooked. As we were eating the cook just kept dumping more food on the plate on top of everything else. We've been to hibachi restaurants before where they have had much more consideration on plate presentation. We had to chase the server down just to get some hot sauce. Dress code: flip flops & cut off shorts for the most part. For the two of us it was almost $70. We each had a glass of wine. You would think they could have at least came & cleared the dishes when we were finished eating. It wasn't that busy. No one at all asked how the food was & not a thanks for coming at all. Maybe later we will try a different location. The one on E 10th St. Isn't worth your...
