Sal's Pizza & Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Slatington

Firstly, we are not from the area. We were camping at StonyBrook RV Resort and were dealt a bad hand of weather and a day of rain. So we were looking for a quick place to eat that had a wide variety of food options for a quick dinner. We ordered a bowl of wedding soup and garden salad as an appetizer. The soup portion size was more than expected and was very authentic with ingredients and flavor. The garden salad was fresh, and the portion size was more than adequate. Both the soup and salad took less than five minutes to hit our table. Our main dish was a pan pizza with half pepperoni and sausage. The other half with just cheese. The pizza only took 10 minutes before it arrived at the table. It was absolutely one of the best pan pizzas that I have ever eaten. The crust was thick, light, and tasty. The sauce was unique and had a sweet flavor and a touch of heat (spice). It was fantastic. This will be our "Go-To" place whenever we go camping in the area! I gave 2 stars because their pizza was good last time we ordered. Tonight decided to order different things hoping it would be as good as their pizza. I was wrong! Fried food items were soggy and cold as they deliver in styrofoam containers. Fried food never stays well in styrofoam. Cheesesteak was ordered to be like a sub with lettuce, tom, onion, mayo. The lettuce was hot and it had sauce on it! Yuck! The other cheesesteak was supposed to be sauce,onion,pickles, and they forgot the pickles. They were both on garlic bread and we couldn’t taste any garlic. I was pretty sure they missed the cheese until I tasted a little piece of cheese. Buns were soggy and gross. French fries were also soggy and cold! I paid 60 bucks for dinner tonight, I’m soooo disappointed! We won’t...

First time being here and I was a bit nervous. New place and a new menu. Unfamiliar terrain. The staff were polite, courtesy, and had patience as I determined what I wanted to eat. The small town home like feel was definitely a plus. The staff brought me my meal and were pleasant and kind. The portions were large and I ended up having left overs. As I went to leave, I was happy to hear them thank me and wish me well. Even though I was out of my comfort zone trying a new place, it will definitely not be the last time I go there.
