Kappy's Daiquiri & Sports — Restaurant in Slidell

I would not return.

I arrived at Kappy with two girl friend’s from university (5+ years so we are all about 30 ). When we arrived the bartender was extremely difficult to manage. After we speak and I hand her my passport, she says it’s expired. This passport was used last year (it’s very new). She hands the passport back, and I open it. She responds to this behavior by saying, “I know how to read a passport!” Hindsight, she in fact ‘did not know’ how to read a passport. The passport doesn’t expire until 2031. Afterwards, she says, oh you were right.

Firstly, I don’t need to be right…I just want my drink (to go). Then she tells me the identification looks ‘nothing like me’ and starts arguing about this new issue.

Ma’am, black women are allowed to change their hair (braids to short hair). She could not recover from her unwelcoming service and inappropriate demeanor, and rather than apologize and get me out as soon as possible she tried to recover by passing more skepticism and poor behavior.

I tipped her because I’ve worked in hospitality for many years, but I would've rather left her with nothing.

If this were Texas, she wouldn’t last. She has poor communication and obviously struggles with nuance or grace. There are ways of doing your job well, with great service. Also, I visited this location for the first time earlier in the week (with a straight wig) very ‘traditional’ presenting and there were NO issues with my identification. Yesterday when I arrive, I wore my hat and afro and was accompanied with two ‘white’ girl-friends, neither were carded or questioned. I’m not sure how much that'll play a part in her interaction but it is very interesting...

Be careful. If they mess your order up its your problem. You're gonna spend your money💰 to fix it.

There is plenty of free parking. Touch tunes music system is there, so you can hear just about whatever. Pool tables are awesome and in good shape. Very clean establishment. OK, selection of alcohol. Duck tenders are good but literally a handful of food. So dont expect nornal sized chicken tenders.I'd say enough food for a one person appetizer. Burgers are amazing. Fries were great, too.

warning racist review

Stay away from this racist place. A group of young ladies came in on Friday night I over heard one of the girls telling her friend she was excited about the place and they were discussing what daiquiri they were gonna try. Do you know these people did not look at these girls not once. The waiters did everything they could to avoid eye contact. The girls were getting impatient so they got their attention by saying excuse me. Do you know these ppl told them they were busy and did everything to look busy!!! I was hurt for them that is not how you treat people!! I came after them and already had my drinks. My husband offered to order for them but at that point they had finally realized they weren’t being treated right. They thanked my Husband and I and offered us the $100 tip they said they were giving their waiter... but what waiter??? Be mind of how you treat ppl. This place has lost my business.. Sickening

Replying: I have no reason to lie. We were so nice to them they wanted to tip us. Yes it was a busy night but at that time everyone was outside enjoying the parade. You right it may not have been waitresses but you know exactly what I meant. They were standing AT THE BAR and a few of them sat at the table.
