If youâre looking for a seafood spot with mid-tier food, a hostile atmosphere, and a side of visible health code violations, Keithâs Seafood might just be your place. Unfortunately, I was hoping for something better than a plate of disappointment served with a generous helping of rudeness.
I asked the owner a simple question about how long my poâ boy would take. Instead of a straight answer, I got a condescending lecture: âYou were sitting down, so you must not have heard me call it out.â Funny, because he was literally sitting behind me for 10+ minutes, scrolling on his phoneânot exactly the picture of urgency or professionalism.
When I asked (calmly) why he was being so loud, he yelled back, âBecause I can be.â Bold customer service strategyâif your goal is to make sure people never return.
The food? Meh. The kind of meal that makes you regret not just grabbing fast food. The atmosphere? Tense and uninviting. And the cherry on top? Several questionable sanitation issues that made me wonder how this place is still open.
All in all, Keithâs serves up the rare combo of subpar food and top-tier attitude. I walked in hungry and left with indigestion and secondhand embarrassment.

I pull up multitasking on my phone walk in all the crawfish prices texting to see if my team wants anything etc. I went to the bathroom washed my hands guess I forgot that I already asked how much the crawfish were so I asked again. There was no customers in the building e when I first arrived and 2 when I came out of the bathroom so I wasn't in the way of a customer. I proceeded to order and I said hwy hun you can talk to customers any kind of way! He started with me arguing telling me well I'm just telling you. You were on the phone and hoping on and on! if it were me as that point I would have just kept quite! I don't know if today was a bad day or what. I have never had this kind of experience here. I told him of you feel like you can talk to me any kind of way I'll spend my money someplace else. He always has a nonchalant attitude and has unwelcoming demeanor. Normally there are flies flying all over the place but it was a little cleaner today. I made a purchase. While I was making my purchase he was on the phone and totally disregarded me asking him a question because my card wasnât reading. He eventually said â oh â after me standing there for 5 minutes waiting on him to fix the machine. My card goes thru and the seafood is sitting close next to him in the bag. Iâm thinking he would hand the bag to me. You know like a courteous respectful owner when a customer is in there making a purchase. He never moved. Never gave me my bag. I had to reach over a good Length of counter to grab my things. The energy he gives is that he knows 100% of his customers are black. So your customer service and demeanor gives idgaf. For me to leave a review speaks volumes. The place is run down. The food looks questionable most of time but Slidell doesnât have many places to eat seafood.
