Hoss's Steak & Sea House — Restaurant in Smithfield Township

Let me start by saying this is the first negative review I have ever had to make. However I feel like this place was so appalling that it truely needs to be talked about. Me and my wife decided to stop by after running some errands and we should have turned around the minute the smell hit us. The restaurant smelled stale like old carpet in your grandmother’s house. We were sat and ordered two burgers and the salad bar. My wife was going to grab some soup so she picked up a bowl and there was food residue caked in the bowl. We picked up another bowl and the same thing was true as well we looked through at least 5 of them and some level of food residue were on each. Also the flys around the salad bar were a nice touch. Truly disgusted and disappointed we made our way back to the table. Which we realised were siliconed to the wall. We stopped our waitress and asked for the check because me and my wife were not eating in a dirty restaurant and explained what was wrong she did not seem surprised at all. We were charged 26 dollars for this meal I am happy we got the special as I will never spend another penny here. When the burger did arrive they looked dry and the lettuce had started to turn brown. No cheese and it wasn’t even offered. I would have rather spent 26 dollars at McDonald’s because at least they try and hide how...

I've always wanted to try this place because I heard good reviews even though I don't need steak nor seafood but I heard they have some chicken dishes so I went with a friend of mine. During covid I would expect the place to be not busy but you could hear the crickets making noise when I went basically. I ordered the chicken tenders cuz there were only about two chicken choices on the menu and when the salad arrived I thought what a generic salad with generic salad dressing they probably don't even make the salad dressing it was so generic. Then the soup came out and it tasted like straight out of a can instead of homemade. The tenders were presentable on a metal plate that was meant to look like it was a hot plate I would assume and they were all right but yet another thing out of the freezer right into the fryer. I'm glad the meal was only $9 because honestly I would not have paid that. I guess the best part of the meal time that I was there was the server who according to her badge had been there for over 24 years she was very nice very persistent but very nice. I will not be back because of all the presentation of food items listed above. They did have a nice Christmas...

This place has got worse in the last few years but this last time I was there takes the cake 10/24/24 evening 10min to get a seat (was not even busy maybe 10 people seated) after seated waitress came over and said help are self to the salad bar they was short staffed and she would be back to get are drink order 20 min later she was back for drink order only another 10min to actually get the drinks at that point she took are order and decided we just wanted the meatloaf bowl and with waiting for that for another 30min me and my wife done filled up on the salad bar (that was about horrible wilted lettuce and could tell most of the stuff was on there a good while and dried out) so when the meatloaf bowls came out we asked for a to go box for them and are check waitress brought the to go containers no check said she be back in a min and 10min went past as she was making small talk with other people and I had to snap on her to get my check to get out of there,2 hrs pass after leaving and my wife and I was in the bathroom vomiting.... never will return to this place again worse experience I ever had at...
