My family and I made a reservation for 30 people for Christmas Eve at the Smithfield location. After speaking with the owner, Lenard, about our expectations, he advised us to switch our reservation to the Warwick location. They have 3 private rooms, 2 for up to 35 and 1 for 80. I asked how much it would be to reserve a room and he said it was not extra. We reserved the 35 room. Lenard went on to say he had recently had a baby shower booked and they had a present table and 1 for desert. This was perfect for us. In a follow up conversation we discussed what the table sizes would be etc. When we arrived that evening we were brought to a large room and were told the 3 tables on the left were for us and the rest of the room was being used for open seating. I explained we had a reservation for a private room and was told they were fully booked and these were our accommodations. I was also informed there was no manager or owner to address the issue. Our waitstaff were lovely and tried their best but they were completely understaffed. 6 members of our party did not recieve their food until the rest of us were done eating. Three people at our table ordered steak fries. The fries were cold and soggy, one was raw and the other two were so chewy they were inedible. Lenard came to the restaurant at the end of the evening and when I spoke to him about our issues he stated he never said we could have a private room, they don't book private rooms on Christmas Eve. He blatantly lied to my face. When I told him that members of our party didn't receive their food he said that was the waitstaff's fault. I told him they were doing their best and maybe it was an issue with the kitchen? He said, well were you happy with the service or not? I was literally in disbelief that not only was he lying to me but he was blaming his employees for him being understaffed. Working Christmas Eve is hard and my family and I were just grateful to be together. We spent close to $3000 and they lost out on our repeat business. They also advertised take out on Christmas day. My friend called several days prior to see if they needed to place their order in advance and was told they needed to call that day. When the called to order their dinner, only dine in service was available. When she explained what they were told they were hung up on.TLDR. Owner, food and service were awful. Owner is a lier...
Read moreTruly amazing experience from start to finish. The hostess (I'm so sorry I forgot her name) was very sweet, welcoming, and attentive. I was seated with Stephanie, who stayed on top of everything for me in such a nice and timely manner. Every time the hostess or Stephanie made eye contact with me, it was with a warm smile, and I really appreciate that.
The 3 course menue they have on Sunday and Mondays is WELL WORTH IT.
Stephanie brought out water and nice fluffy bread right away, and my wine followed shortly behind. I ordered the Castellani Chianti since I knew I was going to order the braised pulled beef shank. The wine paired splendidly with my main course.
I started with the soft bread and house infused oil they had prepped on the table. It was a well flavored oil, garlic, and afternotes of chili pepper. It had just enough heat to enjoy without burning your mouth and gut.
Next was my beet salad, which was refreshing and balanced.
My main course, as stated above, was the braised pulled beef shank. They paired the beef with pillowy gnocchi, asparagus, mushroom, and cipollini onions. What a delicious combination 😋 With the wine, it was beautifully done.
I could not even finish my main course because their portion size was more than fair. I ended up getting my tirimisu to go and forgot to take a picture before devouring it later at my hotel.
Overall, they were lovely from the service to the atmosphere to the food.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely hostess, Stephanie my server, and the chefs who absolutely know their flavor profiles well.
I will absolutely come back when I'm in town and will recommend you to anyone looking for a lovely...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!! This was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. While seated, the sever marissa was totally inattentive and made us wait 30 minutes (while she stood in the back bsing with staff staring at us!) to pay the bill which was so overpriced! No bread until after the apps. Calamari was soggy and such a small portion for an app. She also took my plate to wrap it and didn't return the food to me for a solid 25-30 minutes, I threw it out in fear of contamination after how she had treated us. At the beginning of the service marissa explained that they have children size portions of the usuals (mac and meatballs, pizza, etc) my son decided on a cheese pizza and they bring us a full adult size one for the adult price, he's 4... Very sad! We were so annoyed we stopped at the desk and attempted to explain our situation to the woman there. We were told that unfortunately we weren't the only table marissa has to serve that night! There was maybe 30 people max between the bar and dining room, it wasn't busy by any means. We just left, and decided to put up a review on facebook which was met with some of the most ignorant responses I have ever seen from an establishment. Be aware that they have fake profile reviews on facebook and I'm sure there are some fake ones on here to drive up their rating. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I would be happy to speak to anyone privately for more information. I apologize in advance for the restaurants rude comments that are about to follow, but I'm sure it will prove my point. Thanks for reading and feel free to contact me for more information. this was also cross...
