I haven't eaten at fast food places much in the last 20 years, although I'd eaten at Burger King and the like plenty prior to that. I went there to try one of the new Impossible Whoppers, which seemed interesting. I decided to buy one regular Whopper w/cheese to refresh my memory and to compare, one Impossible Whopper w/cheese and a side of of onion rings.
First, I want to talk about their onion rings. I remembered that they weren't all that good, but thought maybe they'd changed since I had them last. They haven't. These are still hands down the worst onion rings on Earth. They're not even rings of onion, but more like a bunch of minced onion formed in the shape of a ring and surrounded by oily, greasy breading with a funky aftertaste. No bruno.
Next, we come to the Whoppers. The regular Whopper has always seemed like a decent hamburger and this one tasted just like the ones I'd had 20 years before. Then I tried the plant-based Impossible Whopper, and I do have to say it did a near perfect impression of its beef-laden counterpart. There did seem to be a very slight difference in taste in some bites, and pretty much no difference in other bites. Given that the quantity of various toppings didn't seem to be the same (the regular Whopper benefitted from more pickle, for example), I can honestly say the difference in the taste probably had more to do with the toppings and less with the patty. For tasting nearly identical to the regular Whopper, I'd rate it 4.75 out of 5.
Lastly, I want to talk about the service. I went through the drive-thru, and although I was greeted promptly, and they came back to the microphone to let me know they hadn't forgotten about me, I probably waited there something like 10 minutes before a young woman was available to take my order. She asked me pull up to the front window, as apparently something was holding up the guy in line in front of at second window. I wait a bit to see if this guy is anywhere near done, and he isn't, so I pull around as instructed. I look through the window at the scene inside to see 3 people running around somewhat hectically, looking somewhat disorganized. After waiting a while at the window, a young man came to the window and asked if I had ordered a series of items that I hadn't ordered. After I told him no, he then took my order anew. After awhile he started to bring me my order and looked in the bag that he'd been handed to give to me, then asked me if I'd ordered an Impossible Whopper (which apparently was not in the bag). I said yes, and he took the bag back and explained to the young woman what I'd ordered. A few minutes later he came back with the correct items. He seemed like he was doing a good job of straightening out the chaos going on inside and making an effort to provide customer service in spite of it.
So, high marks for the Impossible Whopper, low marks for the onion rings, average score for the regular Whopper, low marks for the wait time and inaccurate order-taking, and above-average marks for the young man who seemed to be the one keeping things together. Overall, that's...

When I started to order the cashier made me repeat myself multiple times she was not paying attention to meš¤. I wanted to try the new halvesies (onion rings, fries in one carton) , and I ordered a medium meal chicken sandwich and drink. At the second window they tried to give me a small drink... after I got my bag I looked in it the employees gave me 2 carton of fries which is nerve racking, because it defeats the purpose of the halvesies including (onion rings) promotion.šš¼ - (*an example of what I was supposed to get is in the attached photo.) * I went inside to simply get one of my carton of fries replaced with onion rings which took so long to do I was almost late for work!šand side note "a lady came to the counter saying they skipped out on a kids fry." smh they took my whole bag then gave me a separate one with a fix that passed for the gist of the halvesies, then I had to tell them I needed my chicken sandwich back that was in the old bag... they were frantically asking each other questions as if I asked them to fix the whole order this establishment needs better training to there employees and practice better communication to the customer.š«” I have background experience in fast food for around 4 years in the past, and I would never have kept the job with this burger...
