I am unsure why, but my review doesn’t want to post. I just want to share my experience and how I did not enjoy my visit as a first time customer and the reasons I will not be returning.
We ate here on Sunday afternoon and I was greatly disappointed as there are so many good reviews. When we first walked in, we noticed it was very hot, so we peeked at the thermostat to see that the air was off and it was 79 degrees in the restaurant. I honestly felt bad for the workers as I have previously had to work in the heat myself and I know it is not easy. When we got our food one of the people in our party asked for extra ranch for her salad. Our waitress proceeded to take the ranch cup our friend had just emptied on to her salad to the back to refill. A man came back with the ranch cup and instead of handing it to her, he plopped the ranch onto her salad and took the cup back. This was a very strange experience for us. Another person in our party ordered a burger and it was undercooked. The last straw for me was when I took a sip of my water and a hard plastic piece came up from my drink through my straw. Luckily I did not swallow whatever it was. When we tried to ask the waitress what it was, she said it was just paper. Paper is not hard when it is in water. Regardless there shouldn’t have been anything in my drink, so the fact that it was brushed off and not further investigated makes me very nervous. I and many of our party were unable to finish our...
Read moreWe chose this place based solely on reviews. That was a good decision. This is A GREAT place to eat, and we had a black and blue burger, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and our daughter had wings. We called it in, and when I went in to pick it up, there was a sweet lady to greet me. She said order would be a few more minutes. I used their clean restroom, and when I came out, I noticed a fresh pot of coffee. I didn't have my coffee this am, so I asked if it was coffee, and she offered me a cup as I waited. The gentleman who took my order came out with my food, and was VERY friendly and kind. He mentioned that we were from Alabama, and he said he was happy to cook for us. I haven't had anyone say anything like that in a while. I had JUST noticed a big cross on the wall, when the owner said his first "God Bless You". The man literally blessed me THREE times, then carried the food out for me to our van. He blessed me AGAIN, and we have been driving back to Bama eating our DELICIOUS food!
This place is truly a special place. It's all because of the owners. We look forward to coming...
Read moreWhere do I start? My fiancé and I (we're Black) were greeted right away with a mention of fried chicken, jambalaya, and sweet tea on the menu. The staff member seemed insistent that we’d be interested in those specific items. Take from that what you will. I was very disappointed with my experience here. We ordered shrimp and grits, a jalapeño burger, and buffalo wings. The shrimp and grits were just that—plain grits with butter, no seasoning, and undercooked shrimp. The buffalo wings were also plain and flavorless, served with a side of spoiled ranch. The jalapeño burger was edible but far from enjoyable. The food came out so quickly, suggesting a lack of care for actual flavor. Overall, it was a huge disappointment, and I definitely would not recommend this place. We didn’t finish the meal and ended up going somewhere else to satisfy our hunger because the experience was that bad.
I was, however, thankful that they did not charge for the shrimp and grits after I expressed my dissatisfaction. They offered a free meal to go, which I politely declined. I wish I could...
