Fratelli’s in Snellville has long been one of my go-to restaurants in the area. Over the years, I’ve found the food to be consistently excellent, with fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes, and a menu that delivers a satisfying experience every time. The service has also typically been very good—attentive, professional, and welcoming, which is part of what has made Fratelli’s a place I recommend to friends and family. For that reason, I was especially disappointed by what happened on my most recent visit this past Friday evening.
Fratelli’s is listed as being open until 10:00 p.m. We decided to stop by for a late dinner, arriving around 9:20. While I understand that arriving within the last 40 minutes of service can sometimes present challenges for a restaurant staff, I also believe that if a restaurant advertises that it is open until 10, customers arriving before closing time should expect the same courtesy and service as those who arrive earlier. Unfortunately, that did not happen for us.
When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was that there was no host or staff member at the front of the restaurant. The entryway was completely empty, and although we waited patiently, no one came to greet us. At first, I assumed the staff might be busy helping other tables, so I gave it a few minutes. But as the minutes passed—five, then ten—we were still standing there, unacknowledged. Servers walked past in the distance, but not one person stopped to greet us, ask if we had been helped, or even let us know if the restaurant was still seating. After waiting for nearly ten minutes with no acknowledgment whatsoever, we decided to leave.
This was frustrating because I know what Fratelli’s is capable of. As I said earlier, the food here is usually excellent. The pasta dishes are flavorful and well-seasoned, the pizzas are some of the best you’ll find in Snellville, and the portions are generous. On previous visits, the service has been prompt and friendly, with staff members making us feel welcome. That’s part of the reason why this experience was so jarring—it was completely out of line with the level of service I’ve come to expect from this restaurant.
I want to be clear: I understand that staff may have been preparing to close up, cleaning, or otherwise occupied. But even in those cases, a simple acknowledgment goes a long way. A quick “We’ll be right with you” or even letting us know if the kitchen had already closed would have been enough. Instead, we were left standing awkwardly in the entryway for ten minutes, feeling ignored and unwelcome. Eventually, we had no choice but to walk out.
In the end, I still believe Fratelli’s is one of the better restaurants in Snellville when it comes to food quality, and I’m hopeful this was just an off night. Everyone can have a slip-up, and perhaps it was a staffing issue or simple miscommunication. However, the experience did leave a sour note, and it’s something I hope the management addresses. After all, part of running a great restaurant is consistency—not just in the kitchen, but in the way customers are treated from the moment they walk through the door until the moment they leave.
For now, I’ll give Fratelli’s the benefit of the doubt, but I do hope that next time I visit—whether early in the evening or closer to closing time—the service matches the excellent food I know they...
Read moreUpdated review: Meat lovers calzone? Does this look like a meat lovers calzone? Ordered over the phone, got there in 30-35 minutes. Waited 40 mins once I got there, for this young man to place the order incorrectly, even AFTER I asked him, twice to confirm the calzone. I asked, because i could tell he wasnt listening. Then when we added a slice of pizza, he said that would be about 15 mins, sure, no problem. Some 30 mins later, we asked what was the status. They gave away the calzone, now they are making another one, and that would take 7 mins. 15 minutes later, we ask how is that calzone looking... He says, let me check. He goes in the kitchen and starts packaging others customers orders that came in AFTER us. We ask the bartender to cancel our order, she nicely goes to check, she brings the order out, which is short of the slice of pizza. Now i can only imagine, our food was just sitting some 45+ minutes. We check the order, we don't slice open the calzone, but SURELY now an hour in, this calzone with a pepperoni on top, has to be, a meat lovers calzone... BUZZER! You guessed it. It was NOT. So now, we dont realize this until much later, but now i am irritated. Its not just a wrong order from what was my favorite resteraunt, but this kid and whomever placed a pepperoni on the cheese calzone, was a bad joke, like my receipt says "add pepperoni" and he added "a pepperoni"! WE use to bring GROUPS here pre pandemic, loved the food, even when they got an order incorrect, they'd always make it right, but this kid, not only DIDNT listen, but probably should NOT be at a to-go counter on Friday. Very disappointed in what used to one of our favorite spots
This was our experience, and i am not deleting, but showing how things have unfortunately changed: "Always enjoy...
Read moreWARNING!! Do not come to this place ever. The OWNERS are HORRIBLE and so is the customer service. We came to this place with a party of 30 people with kids and about 7 people arrived about 10 mins later. We placed orders for the kids early so we could get them fed. The order was placed around 7:40pm and when I the server for a time estimate, he told me the order was put in at 8:15. It was around 8:25pm when this happened. He then proceeds to get the manager. When she came to the table, I expressed my concern to her and she totally disregarded it. It was like she had no concern for what the issue I was trying to express. She tells us we didn’t specify whether to bring out the order the was placed early. I tried to explain to her the server didn’t ask or specify about that and there isn’t a sign that says that either. She wanted to go back and forth and told me that we can go back and forth. I told her I am not going back and forth with her and that she could get out my face. She wanted to mock me and say “get out your face”...I said yes. My friend intervened and told her ma’am you are right and we are wrong as the customers. She wanted to go back and forth. Then proceeds to say she’s the owner and walked away when we told her we are not going back and forth with her.
Then a big man comes out from the back aggressively raising his voice. At this point, I felt threatened and worried about what they would do to our food in the back. The restaurant wasn’t busy during this time. In fact it was rather empty.
Bottom line is she, the serve, and muscle man should have apologized for the inconvenience and reassured us as paying customers. We...
