I've been here a few times to sell my scap gold. Despite the fact that the man who runs the place seems to be very friendly...he is a crooked salesman. Upon my third visit to the store. I approached him to sell my gold and he proceeded to check it out. He scratched it a few times on the black thing and poured the acid on it. He did this a few times then offered me $50 for my 7.5g 14k worth of old gold. I called my husband and told him what I was offered and he told me hell no go somewhere else. Upon leaving the store this crooked man went up to a $70 offer basically telling me to Go ahead and get another opinion but I doubt that they'll give you such a great offer. THANK GOD that I went elsewhere because I got $100 more than the ridiculous amount he came at me with. DO NOT EVER SELL YOUR GOLD to these crooks!!! He'll rob you and try to convince you to sell your stuff to him for a fraction of what it's worth and do it all with a smile on his damned face. I recently fell on some hard times and needed to sell a 14 kt. necklace and a 10 kt. ring. THANK GOODNESS I found this place. The first place I stopped was a corporate pawn shop, thinking they would offer me the most (on advice of an article) boy were they wrong. I have been to Phoenix Gold, well today is my third. Every time I have been I've had the best experience. My first time trying to sell gold I didn't know where to go or what to do so I noticed a place on main. When I went in they offered me $19 for half of my scrap jewelry but the camera didn't work so they asked me to come back. I went up the street and saw Phoenix Gold and they took all my scrap gold and I received $100. My second time I brought in a bracelet and 2 single earrings, I received $252. Today I had some scraps and a necklace that was 14k, I got $270. I mean I have scrap old jewelry that I never ware any more and broken bracelets that cost me too much to fix.
