Kami Teriyaki(Snohomish) — Restaurant in Snohomish

Did not give me ginger with my order and I’ve never had a sushi place not give ginger with it / I rarely like sushi without it.. luckily I had some root in my fridge that helped but still not the same. Ordered the seared salmon roll which smelled and tasted bad of butane or something off I can’t pin point it but I cannot stomach it plus lots of imitation crab in it and I wasn’t expecting that since usually it’s salmon/cucumber/avocado other places - $15+ wasted sadly. Also got the avocado roll thinking it was just avocado and cucumber (was not) which was beautiful and still good w/ spicy mayo and the ginger root I had despite not liking imitation crab and forcing myself to eat it.

I got confused from their google menu due to lack of descriptions. I realized a customer had uploaded a picture of the sushi menu that’s descriptive; after already getting my food unfortunately. I only like sushi with real crab so this really sucked for me. I think they need to work on having an easily accessible descriptive menu at least for their sushi. The food is great! I've been coming here for years. My only complaint is that in the last 6 months or more I've noticed changes. I would order take out and find that the free small cup of teriyaki sauce that was usually included was not there. I ask and was told that they no longer put it in unless you ask. Then they started charging .35 for it. Just last week I ordered a side salad and was given a salad the size of the ones that are included with some meals. The side salad used to be twice as large. I've also noticed that these changes are not consistent with every employee. Now I ask about everything so that I know what I'm getting. I hope that the owners read this. I still gave Kami Teriyaki high ratings because the Food, Service and Atmosphere is still excellent. When I rate service, I'm rating how I'm treated. The employees are always polite...

Sorry to give this place 1 star in term of food. Last night, was feeling hungry for katsu curry as the taste kept coming back to me from Japan and how good it was over there in Tokyo and so on.

When the food arrived, I was ready to try it out while its still hot. I know to lower my expectation but even then got disappointed at how even with msg added by the restaurant themselves, it doesn't come close and made my mouth very dry in the middle of the night. Also ordered crab delight/rangoon, and no would not order again for both the curry and the crab delight.

Giving service/atmosphere 4/5 as it would be unfair to rate it low when the only interaction was...
