My husband, myself and our two kids have been going to Blazing Onion in Snohomish for years. Years ago we met a friendly manager named Marco. He was so personable and always greeted us like an old friend. Our son actually always asks us to eat there because Marco is so kind to us. I feel like it is almost a lost art, a restaurant that has a manager or owner that interacts with customers and makes them feel like friends. I grew up with a few local restaurants with managers/owners like this and always missed it. Over the years there have been things with the food that I have personally hated, specifically they took my favorite burger off the menu and they got rid of their relish that was like that best thing I’ve ever had on a burger. Although the food has changed we could always count on the best, friendliest manager around to greet us so we always remained loyal. Plus they still kept their black bean patty which a lot of restaurants haven’t due to the gross Impossible burger becoming the new thing.
Another reason we love supporting Blazing Onion is because they are local owned and we really love supporting local. My husband used to work for their IT company and always spoke highly of the owners and really wanted to always support them.
Now to my most recent review and why I wanted to come here and give them 5 stars tonight. Last night I called to place a pickup order, we hadn’t been in probably a month or two and with the reinstatement of the indoor dining ban we wanted to spread the love to them. I had no idea that they had changed their hours and closed at 8, I called at about 7:45. To be fast for time the girl that answered the phone said she had my last order on file, I asked her to repeat it so I could confirm. I said yes to the last order being what we wanted, minus a salad. I ran over and they had the food ready to go. We got home and sadly two of the burgers were missing things. One was missing an extra patty, the other was mine; it had a regular beef patty and I had confirmed in the phone mine had their delicious vegan patty since I don’t eat meat. 😞 So I took the beef patty off mine and put it on my husbands so he had the right burger and I just skipped dinner. I wanted to make sure I didn’t pay for an up charge of a vegan patty and an extra patty so I checked the receipt and to my surprise I had t paid extra. The woman that took my order just put three burgers with no modifications. In the interest of wanting Blazing Onion to remain successful during these insane times I called to let them know that she should be more careful. When I called in I luckily got Marco on the phone and explained what had happened. Marco went above and beyond to get me the correct order even though I (and my diet 😂) didn’t need that, I felt bad taking a free dinner from a small business in these times, but he insisted that they wanted to make it right. I felt guilty that my debit card wouldn’t work at the ATM due to my chip being old, because my plan was to tip them $55 which is the price of the dinner, but I will have to add it on my next order. To stop rambling and get to the point. The food is good, but the people, specially Marco make this establishment worth being a regular. I’ve never seen a harder worker. These workers are our local young adults and adults trying to survive this pandemic. Please go get good food made be fantastic people and support this business.
Lastly I have to say, Blazing Onion is BEYOND lucky to have an employee like Marco. My husband and I are blown away by this man. He is a gem and deserves only the best. Thank you BO for having a staff like him, absolutely makes us lifetime customers. Thank you Marco for your kindness, it’s more appreciated than you...

The Blazing Onion burger, I think that's the name :), is what I had. It was worth all the hype on social media. :) Besides that, the Blazing Onion restaurant has a nice atmosphere because burgers don't have atmospheres...or do they?
There are enough TV screens around. It's what I went there for to watch the NFC playoff game. But don't everybody go there at once based on my review, I would rather not wait a long time to get seated. And it was not a long wait...or perhaps I should instead say it was? Hee hee.
No, but seriously, the bartenders were all great. Even though I don't drink, my bartender was happy to provide me with non alcoholic water. It's very rare that a bar has that...and with lemons and oranges like I wanted.
There was also an interesting conversations going on with a couple seated next to me. Next time, I'm going to bring my own conversation with me. I was running an errand prior to that OK!...and I got hungry and wanted to watch the rest of the NFC Championship. Damn Seahawks didn't make it. Actually, go HAWKS!
The only thing I would give up is going to the men's bathroom and watching the Fox News broadcast. I'm gender neutral...I mean, I'm neutral on that issue...which means, I don't watch Fox News. Many are born that way and they have to go to the bathroom too man! God still gave them bowels and a bladder. If you're a fiscal conservative, watch CNBC dude...talk about some fiscal conservatives.
I tipped the server, she deserved it, and 'cause that's what I believe in besides appropriate wages without raising everyone's rent and trying to sell me a Kobe Bryant burger at $500. I mean selling me an Angus burger at $150 and telling me it's a Kobe burger. Damn landlords and other restaurants that are not The Blazing Onion in Snohomish! :) And I am not talking about the restaurant nearby with the same name as not the Kobe. Seriously, I'm not. Try that place! Support your local...
Read moreThis is an edited review. Eating in the bar is a completely different experience than eating in the dining room. I like eating the bar and have no complaints. Yesterday I met a friend who got there early and wanted to order an appetizer while she waited for me. The problem is you have to stand in line at the front counter to order your meal leaving no room to order an appetizer and then have your meal when your guest arrives. When I got there she already had her appetizer and burger. I waited in the line behind a mother with three small children who had to have the menu explained to each of them individually. I finally ordered and sat down They immediately brought the dessert . The waitress was appalled that I wanted the dessert served AFTER the dinner. It's a terrible place to meet somebody you must all get there at the same time order at the same time and sit down at the same time. The concept of having appetizer dinner and dessert is completely lost on them. Even though there is no service, a tip is expected I don't understand why. The food is good and the service in the bar is good that's where it all ends. I have no idea what they are trying to accomplish by having you stand in line and order before you sit down. It seems they are shooting themselves in the foot by taking away the opportunity to sell more items per ticket. Who severs dessert before dinner to a 5 year...
