While the cake and cupcakes were pretty to look at... The cake was SO DENSE. I thought it was a scone. It was SO DENSE. It was supposed to be Funfetti but when we cut into the cake, the sprinkles were just purple and pink (Funfetti is a array of MULTIPLE colors.) And they were all clumped in the center, so they made a vanilla cake, then just threw sprinkles in the center and baked it. They don't do filling, the cake has frosting and that's it. The filling between layers is the same as the frosting which is a HUGE disappointment. And they're frosting is awful. It's dense and hard like the cake. Both cake and frosting should be light and fluffy. The frosting had so much sugar, SO MUCH sugar that my teeth, my actual physical teeth HURT. No joke. My husband cut off the frosting and threw chunks of it away because it is plastered on so thick and it's so dense and too sweet. Like there's no flavor to the frosting other than SUGAR. I mean, dang! So much sugar that my teeth started to hurt after a slice. You could hear the grit of the sugar grind against your teeth with each bite. I tried my best but we threw the cake out. That was super dense, NOT funfetti, and layered with sugar cement. I mean cement. My puppy tried to jump on the counter and knicked the cake. There wasn't a mark. His paw smacked the cake and there wasn't a mark. I know this place is "Simply Sweet" but that is TOO FRIGGEN SWEET. There are other ways to make sweet treats without pouring 5 bags of sugar into it. I can not say enough good things about Simply Sweet Cupcakes. From their customer service to the final product they were consistently wonderful. I worked with Jess and she made my vision come to life. We had a 3 tiered cake that was all vanilla with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream on the outside. The middle tier was pink, while the top and bottom were white and textured beautifully. We also had mini cupcakes that were pink champagne flavored (if you haven't tried this, you must! I love them in the mini size because it's the perfect ratio! It can be a little on the sweeter side so having it in mini form is perfect!). We only had about 60 people at our wedding, but the ENTIRE cake was gone! Everyone was raving about how delicious it was and how amazing the cupcakes were. My now husband doesn't even like cake, but he loved our cake. I worked with them for almost a year and while they were a few hiccups with initial orders, they were quick to correct it during a really busy Thanksgiving holiday. I would highly recommend working with them and will continue using them for any events I have. Their sugar cookies are also really really good and so decorative! Simply Sweet Cupcakes was AMAZING to work with. My son wanted an Pixar's Up themed birthday and it is extremely hard to find decor and/ or places that make anything related to this movie. I heard about Simply Sweet from my future sister in law who is using them for her wedding this fall, she's had nothing but positive things to say about them and their entire experience from tasting to planning. She encouraged me to reach out to them just to ask if they are able to support. I did and got a quick reply from Cassidy and she shared a picture of Up themed cookies they created for another customer! It was exactly what I was thinking/ hoping for.
