Tacos Guadalajara — Restaurant in Socorro

My fiancé and I decided to visit for an early lunch at 11am, and it was our first time here. I have to say, we were seated much quicker than we expected, especially after reading some of the reviews. After a brief moment, our waiter took our order for the shared taco meal for two, with Carne Asada and Tripas. To our surprise, our order was ready in about 10 minutes! When the waiter brought out our sizzling pan, the aroma was incredible, and we could practically hear our stomachs growling in anticipation. The tacos were absolutely fantastic—honestly, they exceeded our expectations.

Having moved from Southern California three years ago, we've struggled to find tacos that compare to those in San Diego, but these were hands down some of the best we've had since arriving. The beans and rice were also outstanding, which, for me, is a huge factor in determining the quality of a Mexican eatery. If the rice and beans aren’t on point, I’m skeptical about the rest of the meal, but these were phenomenal!

This place is truly a hidden gem and a must-try. If you find yourself waiting, trust me, it's absolutely worth it. One suggestion for the owners: the sign could be more noticeable. It’s a bit hidden behind a tree, and the color doesn’t quite stand out, so making it more eye-catching could draw in even more customers.

So this place used to be a very popular food place before, had heard new owners took over and that the Menu was different and it was now called Tacos Guadalajara. This review might be different being that today was Mexican mothers day, they had a mariachi singing while we dined. This was not planed on my part but worked out great because I had my wife, mom and mother-in-law along with others. So it was a wonderful mother's day surprise. Now let's get to the food, our server Hillary was amazing very attentive and professional. She brought us house made tostadas with a green salsa that was DELICIOUS. We ordered queso fondido with rajas that was served with some corn tortillas. Plate was devoured that's how great it was. Our main entrées were brought out and all plates were literally licked clean. Entered the building and there was no host in sight, rang the bell, waited for a few more minutes no one came. Rang it several times and then the waitress came out. No Im sorry for the wait, No hello welcome! We just stared at each other for a moment and I said for two please. She took us to a table. Brought menus and said “are you ready to order?”….No we’re not we just got the menu and it’s our first time here but you didn’t ask that. When it came to ordering I asked about a menu item she didn’t elaborate didn’t explain. When she brought our appetizer she didn’t bring any utensils we had to wait several minutes before I had to get her attention. The service was pretty bad.
