Amish & More Country Store & Sandwich Shoppe — Restaurant in Somerset

Hate to see over a few years they quit selling there large selection of spices, that they were known for. Then deli started closing just after lunch. Then started charging 2.00 to cut meat for a sandwich if you don't want it how they already have it cut for no telling how long. For example ham and cheese loaf, if you cut it to thin as they do all the cheese ends up on the blade and none in meat. And 5.00 dollar extra charge for meat cut after 3:00 that's not precut in back cooler. I know cutters have to be cleaned after use but come on guys this is a deli right ? 11.99 a pound for ham just cut it how the customer wants. Other than that I love everything that's why a 3 star. When selections drop and weird extra chargesc rise reviews will also drop.

My response - yes I was told if I don't buy what is already cut it was 5.00 for cleaning cutters and Yes at that time country ham was 11.99 per pound and it might have been after 330 instead of 3:00 and Yes I was told that if I got my 1/4 pound of ham and cheese in one piece on my sandwich instead of a bunch of thin slices it was 2.00 per sandwich for special cuts. While visiting Somerset, we found this quaint store that makes the best sandwiches in town. I read one of the negative reviews that criticized the store for apparently not being Amish enough. After I stopped laughing at the ludicrousness of this assessment, I wondered what that person would think about Hindus owning and working in a Mexican restaurant or Chinese selling German delights. Back on topic, this superb market sells Amish products as does many, many other stores. Their sandwiches were delicious and stacked full of fresh meats and vegetables. The staff were above reproach, helpful, kind and considerate. The store was immaculately clean and accessible. The prices were exceptional given the quality and quantity. The atmosphere is pleasant, serene and the air is filled with Godly music rather than irritating noise at most places. You can breathe here, enjoy your superlative meal with your friends and family, feel welcomed and comfortable with the staff and overall you’ll find it hard to leave from here. The staff was very polite and the entire store and deli/food prep area was exceptionally clean. They were one slice of meat short for my sandwich (which was no big deal to me) but made it a point to let me know about the shortage and offered a few different ways to "make it right". They were very apologetic. The sandwiches were so loaded with meats, cheeses and vegetables that I honestly would not have even noticed the shortage and they all tasted so fresh. I was worried about not knowing which sandwich was who's since I had called in a large family order but to my surprise each one was individually wrapped, bagged and clearly labeled in a small brown bag which included napkins and a mint.The desserts we purchased were second to none. Everything tasted great and we will definitely be returning in the near future. Absolutely perfect for a family picnic or any type of gathering whether it be a small lunch or a big reunion. It's a perfect stop for a quick but tasty lunch break.
