0 STARS Horrific Customer Experience/Then the guy at counter lies to cover it up
On March 26, 2021, Friday, 310p-82 degrees, very windy and sunny I stopped at Amano’s Pizza South Amboy NJ and parked my silver vehicle in between Amano’s 2 front doors Only 1 customer in dining area of the store or he could have been a employee and about 5 employees behind counter The guy at the counter asked me how I was and I said terrible, I’m in a lot of pain. I asked how long for a large plain pie to go and he said 7-10min I ordered the large plain pie, paid for it, and asked him to bring it outside to the silver car right out in front Clue: When ppl are waiting they’re observing I sat in the silver metal chair out front for about 5 min and watched the black Cadillac Escalade parked next to the left of my car (Italia emblem on mirror) delivery man load up his delivery I watched as an employee came out and had a brief conversation with the driver of the Escalade with masks around their necks After approximately 5 min the wind was too much for me and I sat in my silver vehicle parked in front of Amano’s between their 2 front doors with my front windows down. I watched as the blue green car parked to the right of me loaded up his Amano’s delivery and he looked at his cell and said “Oh no man” I watched as a small silver car was pulling into the lot, parked to my left, when the black Escalade left and 2 ppl got out and 5 min later came out with 2 small Amano boxes I watched as a small white car parked next to the fire hydrant in the street and a female got out walked in front of my vehicle and then got into her vehicle and drove off. I watched as a very very pregnant young female and her 3 yr old daughter walked into the Amano’s dining room without any masks. I watched as a employee come out the main front door, walk to the right of the building and a few minutes later come back into the store with a box full of beverages. I pulled out my cell phone and it was 330p, so I went inside Amano’s and a pizza was coming out of the oven and I asked is that my pizza? I then noticed it was half pepperoni and I looked at the guy that took my order and he grabs my boxed pizza off the top of the oven and said I sent someone out to your vehicle "BUT YOU WEREN'T THERE" REALLY, now I have a dried out Frisbee to eat and HOW MUCH LONGER WOULD YOU HAVE MADE ME WAIT IN THE PARKING LOT while my pizza was drying out on top of the oven. Horrific Customer Service, Bad Liar, What else do you lie about? No one attempted to come outside with my pizza Still fuming on March 28, 2021-Never got my Parmesan cheese packets either p.s. I'm a handicapped senior at high risk for getting communicable diseases it's important for public businesses to adhere to CDC guidelines especially...
Read moreI have been around Pizzeria's all my life. Most of them, if not all are pretty much the same, and nothing stands out as I am picky on my pizza's. I met the owners at a film shoot where they were making pizza's outside for a party. The pizza was that good.
So one day, I decided to stop by the Matawan location and the upside down caught my eye. After eating the slice, I was amazed on the quality of the slice. I went back inside and left my phone number so one of the owners can call me. That day Nino called me and I explained to him I would need 6-8 Pizza's for a company I deal with in a few days.
We figured out what I needed. On the day of the pickup, not only was the food ready on time, but it was fresh. The pizza was provided to over 20 people, and every single one of them said that this was one of the better ones they have had, with no complaints. I have tried many locations over the years, but this particular place stands out.
We ordered The Upside Down Brooklyn, The Margherita, The Trio with Vodka and Pesto, and the Regular Cheese Pizza. Nino and John also made some Ham/Pepperoni & Cheese Rolls which were a hit.
I will definitely be back, as this is my go to spot. The location in South River is convenient as well, being only one mile off Route 9 South, or Route 35 South coming off the parkway. A few hours later, Nino called me to make sure everything was to my liking, which was the first time any pizzeria made an effort after the fact. This clearly shows that they care about the customer and take pride in the quality of their food. Additionally, they offered to make certain types of pizza not even on the menu which is a big hit.

Read moreI ordered 2 hot sandwiches because i didn't feel like driving to my regular place that always has great food. Boy did i mess up! I was told it would take 45 minutes. I'm like wow you're that busy and for 2 hot sandwiches i felt was excessive being 45 minutes but i said okay thinking it was that busy. So i walk into the place at 30 minutes of the 45 i was told and figured i would just wait. one couple were seated so i don't know where the busy comes from but maybe folks left because of the wait. I told them i was there to get 2 sandwiches and low and behold they were sitting on top of the oven. And who knows for how long for the 45 minutes I'm told to wait before they would of been ready! When I got home with them they were cold so they must of been done in 15 minutes and i was there in 30 of the 45 i was told. I live 3 minutes away. Maybe the girl answering the phone should ask the cook how long it would be rather than just throw a time out like she did. And to top it off they were not that good. The bread was hard for both sandwiches, the philly cheese steak had peppers that weren't even cooked and 1 piece of a onion on the whole sandwich. PITIFUL! Very bland chicken parm, barely any cheese was put on this as most of it stuck to the tin foil when i opened it, Chicken was dry and did i mention cold! For the money i paid for this I can say I WILL NOT BE BACK. No need to try and make this right either you wasted enough of my time, my money and...
