This place is run by an old rude hag of a woman. Stay Away! No good morning, smile or even a welcome look when you say hello. She is just miserable and probably just counting her last days of her miserable life on earth. Charged me $1.25 extra for using my CC to pay for $5.50 sandwich. When I realized I was overcharged the rude lady indicated that there is a sign at the counter that indicates the charge. I told her I was a new customer and did not see or read any sign. She should have at least informed me rather than having me pay 22% extra just for using a CC. She was rude and indicated she will not inform every customer, that's it. Additionally they charge 20% higher than the prices on the menu. When I discovered and asked she said prices of everything has gone up and she cannot keep printing new menus when the prices go up. There is a fine print apparently at the end of the menu that says prices are subject to change and hence she is covered. Complete cheats. No wonder the place is empty. My husband ordered a sub and asked for no oil and vinegar, the lady at the counter says ok. The guy starts making the sub with oil and vinegar and my husband reminds him he ordered it without and he says well I’m not making another one. And my husband says ok then I don’t want it and the owners says ok, bye. It must be nice to be independently wealthy bc they didn’t care about our business. I am still in shock that they messed up and expected us to be fine with it, it was like being in a Seinfeld episode but it wasn’t funny, especially since I tend to have allergic reactions...

This place sucks, the lady that works there seems to be depressed or hates her life. I came in to get something to eat, I greeted her with a smile and order something. She gave me this look as if she’d rather not have me there. Not very welcoming. I recently moved to South Amboy and ate something there everyday for a month. Always tried to crack a joke; maybe i was trying get her to smile. Nothing. Truth is if you want something to eat and a friendly environment go to the Stevens Ave Deli.
