Don Giovanni — Restaurant in South Amboy

This was second time I ordered a delivery with this restaurant, the lady on the phone said 45 minutes, one hour after I was still waiting, I called the restaurant to cancel the order, I was very polite, no drama, just asked for the order to be canceled, the lady on the phone replied "food is on the way" I said is too late, please cancel it, she reluctantly said ok and without saying anything else, hung up on me. A few moments later the delivery man arrived, I never took the food from him, and just said to him that the order was canceled. He apologized and left. After a while, the lady from the restaurant called asking me "Why did you throw the food to the delivery driver?? I just replied "What?? I never took the food from him, I didn't do that, I just said to him i called restaurant to cancel the order, he apologized and left" After this she just said, "have a good day" and hung up on me, without any explanation about what just happened. I can understand working in a restaurant can be stressful, that being said, Why do I need to tolerate this?? She said 45 minutes, I waited an hour, a simple phone call saying the food was bit late would have suffice, so I cancel the order, and on top of that I'm being accused of mistreatment against the delivery man who by the way was the only one who apologized for the issue. I worked in customer service many years, and there is one thing i never do, i never behave like an arse with those who are providing me a service, I've been in those shoes and I know what...

Good food horrible staff. I recently dined in with my husband at the bar area and everything was going okay until 2 lady's entered to be seated. It took long for them to be seated when the workers were pretty much occupied with the wrong things. For example, the girl working the bar was on her phone and one older woman was on her computer. Not to miss out she made eye contact with the two lady's and didn't even sit them down or acknowledge them. But wait it gets better a 7 year old, yes a 7 year old asked the two lady's if they're dining in and gave them menus. I knew she was seven because I asked and the older lady watched her give them menus and take their drink orders. She thought it was funny which we didn't because it's a restaurant and this staff needs to be trained with more etiquette. The lady at the bar is very rude to her employees, I guess she's a manager but does a awful job at it. She's quite appealing to customers but will demand and disrespect her employees. She needs to be reevaluated and trained as well. Maybe holding people more accountable for things. Upper management is nonchalant and probably just cares about $$$ and not what's going on. It's a shame because this place has potential to be great but the staff is horrible...one of the worst I...

If you are looking for good service and food, then DO NOT order food from here. The service is awful, and they are VERY rude to the delivery drivers. For that reason alone, you should not order here.

I am a Grubhub delivery driver and was excited to visit this restaurant while making a delivery, and also hoping to pick up some food for the drive home while I’m there. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I followed the instructions on the app - the restaurant said to call from the parking lot and NOT to come inside. When I called (which the app said to do!), the manager was extremely rude and told me that I had to come inside with a huge attitude, and said she never heard of a driver asking them to come outside (why did they put it on the grubhub app then?).

When I came inside and got the order, the aforementioned manager came out from the back and cursed me out. She did not speak English fluently, and there was no other manager there who I could speak with. This is horrible service, it’s an absolute disgrace that they treat drivers this way, and I will not be visiting this place ever again. Especially will not be bringing my family here, now that I know how rude and disrespectful...
