Bill's Place — Restaurant in South Bend

Seems like a popular spot, lots of cars and people popping in to pick up orders. We sat right down and 3 of us ordered (one order just being a Mickey Mouse pancake, one an omelet with a pancake, and one skillet with a pancake) but it seemed like it took FOREVER for our food to come out. We waited well over 45 minutes. The food was good and well priced, the waitress was friendly. There were lots of options. Would have liked to try other things from the menu eventually but don't have time to waste sitting there like that. Not sure if it always takes that long as this was our 1st time going there. Probably will not...

Service was very good. Rice and beans was alright. The reason I’m leaving a review is due to the steak. That steak was tougher than a father trying to get sole custody of his kids. Seasoned great but literally couldn’t eat it. It didn’t break up after chewing, cutting, or cheating. Great service so I hope they work on it. Just keep in mind that overcooking meat can make it tough. That's because heat causes the proteins in the meat to firm up. Overcooking also basically squeezes the moisture out of the meat, making it dry as well as tough....

Won't lie felt kind of suspicious of the staff there. Went there awhile ago but the visit is memorable not for good reasons. I might be over the top but I felt kind of discriminated against in the subtleties of this restaurant. We both order steak and eggs. We ask for strawberry jelly but brings grape also. Okay didn't ask for it but Okay. Then we ask for a1 sauce brings hot sauce also. Now I was a little wary of this now because tf. I have never in my life seen someone put hot sauce on steak. And the way they acted also...
