Gold Flame Smash Burger — Restaurant in South Bend

We ordered dinner from Fatboy for our family on Friday night, we have children so the bill was not cheap just shy of $80. When I arrived at Fat Boys five minutes past the time the food was supposed to be ready, I was told that it would be a little bit longer as they did not have any buns... this was fine I understood that they were busy, so I took a seat in my car. I went back in about 30 minutes later. The gentleman working the desk was a different person than I had talked to originally, he stated "we ain't got your online order" I told him this couldn't be possible because I have a receipt from the restaurant stating that I paid. I showed him the receipt, he was acting like he couldn't read the screen (iphone14pro so it's big) He asked me for my phone so I handed it to him through the window... thinking he just needed a closer look… this man took my Phone as he called someone and started to walk away!!! Like out of sight!!! I had to push my head through their little window and be like "excuse me please come back with my phone.." About 10 minutes of this nonsense the first gentleman that I talked to comes up with a giant bag of food and says here's your food..

I assumed all would be well at this point ... until i got home and started unpacking to make everybody's plates…

That's when I discovered that they did not make any of our food correctly.

The description on the sliders says juicy patty covered in cheesy goodness or some such with grilled onions... we had: No cheese no grilled onions, no ketchup mustard or mayo as we ordered and no double patties on six of the nine sliders.

I did not come straight to Google just leave a review, I called and left a VM, AND I submitted a help ticket via the stores website- I received no response- this is now Monday and yes they have weekend hours.

If this was a Mc double I would chalk it up as a loss, but this was $80 worth of food and now I'm being directly ignored by the businesses owner… I am not going to let this go.

But hopefully this is the review that you needed to not walk but run away from...

Service- We went here after an ND game. It took an hour, maybe longer to get our food and ice cream.

Food- Fries and onion rings were undercooked, almost raw. Even after I took the onion rings home and air fried them, I threw them out they were so bad. The worst wings my son ever tasted. The burgers were so greasy, the buns were soaked and soggy. The people ahead of us left most of their food on the picnic table and left.

Atmosphere- super sketchy neighborhood.

We apologize once again for bad experience and will try our best to improve but your comment is too detailed and will affect our business and customer base so badly. We have a reputation that we are continuously working on improving. That will be really great if you can accept our apology and please remove your comment. This place is a solid 3.5 or 4 stars. Everything was decent but nothing was exceptional. For $10 my burger was filling and cooked fine. I got a lot of toppings so I can’t really speak to the seasoning of the burger. The patties were thicker but were smashed.

The fries and onion rings were over done. I think the oil in the fryer just needed to be changed. I only ate about half my onion rings and stopped since they were making my stomach hurt.

Service was pretty fast for a Saturday evening, no complaints there. Overall, a solid burger establishment but I personally would save up my time and money to go to Biebs and Ash for a smash burger. I think many of the complaints people have with this place happen with online ordering so I would suggest ordering in person as we had...
